Watched American Psycho first time over the weekend

A+ film of the genre.

Though binned by the masses as a "Slasher" film, it's an excellent macabre black comedy-esque take on the values of the American capitalist dream.

LIke all good horror/macabre films, it should not be taken at face value, but rather the underlying themes, lessons, and phychologies on display.

Perfect role for Bale and nice early Leto appearance.

Watched the "Uncut" DVD I've had for years, picked up at thrift. FIlm-like look, appears to have been shot on 35mm, but DVD shows excessive edge enhancement.

Will watch the Blu Ray next year to compare image quality.

As a Genesis superfan, can't believe I missed out on the Collins/Genesis commentary scene all these years, similar to the Huey Lewis analysis above

Anyone jumping in on the Disney Plus? I'm bi curious for the Mandalorian and the price isn't too steep. If I can add it to Hulu like HBO we will probably try it out but we have no need for the ESPN portion.

Love, love, love this movie--American Psycho (2000). Getting Bale in that role before he blew up and capturing that blue blooded 80s capitalism in the context of a horror movie and, obviously, based on the Bret Easton-Ellis novel--American Psycho, 1991, Vintage Books, New York, which is apparently way more extreme than the movie, yeah, lightening in a bottle.

Also, one of my favorite memes ever is this image of Bale (with the bloody face) that reads, "The original Axe Body Spray."

So the wife bought me Willy's all natural salsa. As I do loves to try me some new salsa. Well now every time I open the fridge I see the Willy's and immediately start singing The Sweet's, "Little Willy, Willy, won't go home. You can't make Willy go, Willy won't go..." I'll open the fridge door and be singing that song for a good hour. Walking around the house singing it my kids now are like, that's a catchy song, Dad. It's by The Sweet, I tell them. They have several more good songs too. Let me get the CD and we can give it a spin... I got the look like what is this dinosaur talking about. It's ok, Dad, they said. We'll just get it from Spotify. I was like, well yeah, that's what I meant when I said CD. C'mon, try and keep up.

Bale is listed at 6' tall so that's likely physically impossible. I read he got down around 120 range at some point, which is still crazy for 6' tall. 66 lbs....he'd have to be deboned first.
