Just be careful of those ants if you find yourself in a peyote fueled soirée in the desert. Don’t step on any or you’ll need Sonic Grave to play Sideboob before the Dead Ants eat ya.

Watched Freaks couple days ago. Pretty awesome.

Trailer is kind of spoilerish so avoid if you want to watch the movie.

Forbidden World (1982). It's all fun and games until some goofy scientists splice together a bit o' this wit a bit o' that and create Subject 20. This movie is so bad it's good. Like a Swiss cheese full of holes. But on a Ritz cracker it's pretty darn tasty. Throw in some quality 80's nekkidness and everybody wins.

Watched "Awakening the Zodiac" last night on Hulu. Not exactly horror but well worth a watch.

Speaking of whom we will be seeing a Joe Bob Christmas special on Shudder this month.

Shudder has a "restored" version of the French Christmas horror movie "Deadly Games" which I watched about an hour of last night and will finish tonight. I switched back to just my Roku TV to watch the film because trying to watch the "Castle Rock" (Hulu) episode on the Shield TV was fraught with reboots, a bug that plagues Shield users and the latest update didn't help. BUT, being a developer have a log to inspect to see if there is a clue as to what causes these because I'm not sure even their engineers can figure it out. The "Cadillac" on the streaming devices ain't quite a "Cadillac" though from experiences of some of my relatives who owned the car might not be that far off.

I like the 'two car' approach,a Roku and an Apple TV 4. If you have trouble with one, just drive the other. Saves a lot of down time.

I take the three car approach, a Roku 4K TV, Sony UX700 UHD player and Shield TV (first edition). And yes I switch depending on what I'm watching. The Sony has the best Amazon UI which offers to skip intro and title sequences like Netflix does. The other two don't have that. But the TV crashed twice last night so did a reboot from the menu.

The Lost Empire (1984). Kung fu, sacred gems, secret island lair, hot 80's chicks, feathered hair and the Tall Man himself, Angus Scrimm, all add up to this classic 80's cheese fest. It's a bit of a Phantasm reunion as Jody (Mike's older brother) has a small role too.

Hey Godzilla fans..if your Santa is flush with cash this year..put this on your list..
image: https://www.soundandvision.com/image...e.godzilla.jpg
Godzilla The Showa-Era Films, 1954-1975 (Criterion Collection)
The fifteen classics produced during the reign of Japan's Emperor Shōwa (Hirohito) are here together in HD for the first time, looking crisper and cleaner and with a punch of color long-absent from cheesy weekday afternoon TV broadcasts. An allegory for the atomic age, the debut Godzilla (a.k.a. Gojira) is considered by many to be the dawn of the kaiju eiga ("giant-monster movies") genre, presented here with the Americanized Godzilla, King of the Monsters, both cuts with an archival audio commentary. Over the next two decades, the series saw some drastic shifts in tone, from dark to juvenile and back again (don't worry, he's there in all of them, even if he's not in the title): Godzilla Raids Again, King Kong vs. Godzilla (the U.S. version plus the Japanese original, the latter with a 4.0 surround soundtrack!), Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Ebirah, Horror of the Deep, Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters (11 of them!), the kid-centric All Monsters Attack, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs. Megalon (a ludicrous favorite: remember Jet Jaguar?), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Terror of Mechagodzilla. The kaiju king then took a well-earned vacation.

You guys remember that George RR Martin show Nightflyers that originally aired on Syfy last year? It didn’t get much praise, I enjoyed it tho. Well, it’s on Netflix and has been given the DV/HDR love. Rewatched the first episode last night and it looks really good. Plus Gretchen Mol.😉

I watched two episodes Hulu's "Reprisal" last night which is though not horror might be something folks here might like. To avoid Shield reboots watched it on the Roku TV app in stereo. I'll have to see if tonight's view of the In The Dark movie of the month is in stereo because Hulu just announced that most Roku devices will be getting 5.1 sound AND I note that Hulu also now "officially" supports 4K on some Roku devices and TVs.

Saw chattER on the TwittER about ShuddER.

Joe Bob says they are looking hard at having just his segments available without the movies with time codes.

Could be cool.

Yeah, I often have to scroll through the timeline to catch his comments because I may have watched the movie he's offering in the last few years and remember it. Not easy to do on the funky player they're using on Roku. Shield is a little better as long as the Shield doesn't crash.

Should do Halloween III if available since the HBO exclusive seems to be going away at the end of the month. That's will make Darcy happy.

I ran separate for years but am playing with combined as of today. There's a doorbell not wanting to roam correctly.

My best friend is the biggest Godzilla fan I know. He drove from SC to Cape Cod with two young kids to come to my wedding (not a fun time), and he even took pictures for us (very casual outdoor thing, but still). When I saw this I thought it would be the perfect gift for him so I pre-ordered it from Amazon for $165. Like five days after he received it, it had dropped to $112. That's a BIG price drop that happened way too fast.

I called Amazon, and they don't have any kind of price protection, but the rep suggested he return it. They said it would be okay to return it even though he had already opened it. So that was an awkward text exchange, but he totally understood, and took it to his nearby UPS store and returned it. Then I reordered it for $112, and all was right with the world again. Still a little annoyed the price dropped THAT fast. I wouldn't have even bothered for like $20, but $53, pfft, that's a lot of money.

It is. But you're a good friend for ordering the set in the first place. Now prepare for the Godzilla marathon that will come at some point. (Bring good liquor ).

This is how you bring a franchise forward, honor the roots but do something different. John Carpenter once told the director of the 'The Fog' remake, "Good luck and make it your own". I think Jason Reitman might be on the right track.
