Tubi has a lot of ShoutFactory, Full Moon and CONtv content. You mentioned CONtv so I checked Tubi and there it was.

Speaking of Tubi I watched The Call with Halle Berry and Abagail Breslin last night. A 911 operator gets a call from a kidnapped teenager locked in the trunk of a moving car. It had some plot holes but overall it was the most interesting movie I've seen in a while.

I've actually found that Roku's search is fairly accurate.

So over to Amazon to watch "Night Sitter" which is a good dark comedy horror film well worth a watch.

I also see that Redbox has "The Invisible Man" coming soon. You may recall that it was one of the $20 rentals to replace theater presentations. Perhaps "The Hunt" isn't far behind and I have been keeping an eye on that one.
I've got a pre-order in for 'The Hunt' the disc release is estimated around mid June.

"Bad Biology" was hoot. Sort of a sequel to "Brain Damage" and probably "Frankenhooker" which I haven't seen in awhile though I have it on DVD. I worked with a guy who was a college buddy of the lead actor in "Frankenhooker".

I caught up with Joe Bob's commentary on "Blood Red" via web browser since I can control the thumbnail better there.

Yes, it's more by the book and more of a play type setup vs a big theatrical style movie.

Watched The Ninth Configuration on Prime over the weekend. It's kinda like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but all the patients are ex military. It also takes place in a Gothic German Castle, but it's set in Washington state (for some weird reason). Like some rich lady shipped the castle over or something crazy. Written and directed by William Peter Blatty of The Exorcist fame, it stars Stacy Keach and Scott Wilson who deliver outstanding performances. It was very cool to see Jason Miller (Father Karras) and Joe Spinell (Frank Zito (Maniac)) in there as well.

Stacy Keach is the new psychiatrist they bring in to try to figure out if the patients are legitimately mentally ill or pretending to be to avoid combat (Vietnam era). That plot becomes secondary as the real story unfolds about who these men actually are and how they came to be there.

There's a moment in the film where Stacy Keach is close to being unhinged, and he conjures a face that is pretty darn terrifying. He's mostly even keeled and quite docile throughout most of the movie so perhaps that played it up, but wow, he definitely pulled off a "don't eff with me face" like one I've never seen committed to film before.

Anyway, some of the stuff is kinda dated. I love how movies of this era portrayed gangs. Did gangs really dress this ridiculously back then??? Overall though, an intense and fun watch.

Some very cool art for this as well.

Can't be any worse than the gang in 'The Warriors' Real gangs would kick their ass around the block and back.

The "toughest" gang member was wearing mega thick eye liner and a red bandana with a cute side knot around his neck. But yeah, I thought about The Warriors as I was typing it.

A producer of physical media that licenses older content is folding, not horror but let people you know who collect classic stuff that might want to jump on this.. There is a sale..while they last.

After nine years of successful operations in which 380 motion pictures from the 1930s to the 2010s have been released on DVD and Blu-ray disc, the home video label Twilight Time founded by veteran Hollywood studio executives and filmmakers Brian Jamieson and the late, Nick Redman, will not release any further titles and will be winding down operations this summer. A changing market, the rising costs of title acquisitions and the passing of longtime partner and company spokesman Redman, are key reasons for the closure.

Even the gangs are doing social distancing, and being bad-assed about it.

What's up strangers!

Of course ugradeitus helped me find my way back to AVS! Looking at burning my tax return on finally upgrading from my Pany plasma to a LG OLED C9. Of course with that will be a new player and some 4k content so wanted ask ya'll what must have horror flicks got a proper 4k treatment and are worth the double dip?

My Sammy Plasma is still going strong but when/if it dies I was thinking a Sony XBR65X900F. Apparently the price will be like 400 dollars before this thing dies.

Can't speak for 4k content because I turn the res down to 480p on newer movies to make them look old and less like cartoons.

Welcome back G.K. The easiest thing is to start with the newer titles. Dr Sleep you should get in 4K and any new flicks consider 4k. Older titles are on a case by case basis and you can't go wrong with Ralph Pott's reviews, he does call them as he sees them.

That and the Shining would make a nice combo, Mr. Potts gave The Shining high marks too! I was also looking at the new Halloween oh and Suspiria as my region B copy is no longer.

My gf and I watched Midsomer the other night, what a dumpster fire. I didn't like Hereditary either so I guess I should have assumed.
