Chiller channel started a new horror series called Slasher earlier this month. They are running a series catch-up marathon on Syfy channel tonight.

Lol.

Got in The Last Witch Hunter. A lot of missed opportunities here. I thought it was going to go all Men In Black with the Witches living amongst the humans and play off that. But nothing much. I thought it would be VD beating up a bunch witches and supernatural entities throughout the movie, but not much of that either. I thought it would be some eye candy with the GOT girl, but she looks pretty plain to me now. Good A/V though so it was a decent 106 minutes.

Watched Crimson Peak the other night. The movie itself was just ok. Took me awhile to get into it. The audio, OTOH, was fantastic. They really created a great atmosphere in that house. There were a couple times I thought someone was standing behind me.

Yep out in CA Mexican cuisine pretty much rules. I do though have a craving Del Taco when I visit out west.

I think I am going on a date night tonight and I have no idea on what to eat.
Roundtable is okay, they are up the hill. But we have a few non chain pizza places that do pizza really well.

Mexican is a different story. I like the little hole-in-the-wall up the hill than the larger restaurant downtown. Prices are okay too.

We also have a few good Italian restaurants too. This area was populated by Sicilians who came here in the 1800s to do masonry. I don't have to go into San Fran to get good Italian food. There is a ristorante up the hill and a trattoria about 3 miles away.

Oh and some good BBQ places serving some good pulled pork sandwiches (had to throw that in).

Pretty good little movie here. Rotten Tomatoes gives it like 1.5 stars so that means it's nearly an 8.

Well, I'm on Linux, just updated to Ubuntu Studio 14.04 LTS. Nothing on Netflix and even Hulu wants to play on Linux. I do have a Windows 10 "steaming" game PC that can do everything. I can however look at Netflix listings on Linux. Used to be able to play Hulu shows on Linux too. They don't like Firefox. Amazon won't play trailers (really a trailer) on Firefox but will on Chrome. VUDU complains when they didn't used too to.

But then I watched Netflix and Hulu on the NVidia Shield TV. VUDU and Amazon on my Sony BD player. VUDU used to work by redirection of the stream via Google cast but the last time I tried it was trying to cast off my phone. Downright hilarious though stupid on VUDU's part.

But then we have the Starbucks app which is now as big as a game. And it is crashing for folks. Is their marketing division now snorting ground coffee?

I think Bone Tomahawk was mentioned here earlier. Kind of a throwback flic since it uses older actors and has a definite villain/creature in a Hills Have Eyes meets a western. Super cast but the real star of the show is the formal language, ala True Grit, and the banter with one of my favorite actors Richard Jenkins.

There are elements of horror, but at over two hours long it is kind of diluted. Still, an interesting movie compared to today's usual copout stuff.

Watched The Revenant today,Kind of a slow, dreary film, some great scenery though, not a bad watch in the afternoon, probably wouldn't have made it to the end at night. 2.5 bear claws. BTW,Dead Space is free on Xbox from April 1-15.Just saying.
