Being away from my HT room for two weeks (one sick week then week vacation), yesterday watching Crimson Peak was a treat! Movie looked really good on my screen compared to the IMAX version I saw in the theater. I am hoping to catch up with TWD and start DareDevel season 2. But I might have to go into the vault to find some decent horror movie to watch. I am excited though to watch the new StarWars next week!

One of the best audio tapes I listened to was Henry Rollins talk about BlackFlag and his life during that time. It was called "Get in the Van" and worth a listen if you are a Rollins or BF fan.

Oh yeah BF was known for playing in some really dingy places back in the day. I think the worst was when Henry was talking about touring in the UK. Where the audience will spit on you while you play lol, iirc that meant they were a good band. Think the only venue these days that tout a bunch of punk acts is the Vans Warped tour. I don't event know though if the warped tour is still around.

Got around to watching Deathgasm recently. Pretty enjoyable. Probably just a one-time watch for us, but it was fun.

Watched The Hateful Eight last night. That movie is nuts. Wish I would have seen the 70mm roadshow.

I saw the roadshow and loved it.
I picked up the Blu-ray last week. I think the store screwed up by putting it out early. It wasn't supposed to be released until yesterday.

I think NF is sending me that movie. I am pretty excited to watch it and to hear Ennio Marconi (sp?) music score.

I am in 5 episodes in the new season of DareDevil and Frank Castle played by Jon Bernthal is my new hero!

The scenery alone in 70mm must have been awesome. I really liked this movie. So many great lines. Just when I thought I had it figured out, nope! Quentin does a 180 on me.

I sent my copy back to NF this morning. My kid has finished DD S2. I just haven't had the time. Come to think of it, my Game of Thrones S5 is sitting on my shelf still sealed.

Thought I had The Hateful Eight already queued up. Thanks for the heads up fellas.......because I somehow didn't.

Come to think of it, maybe I should just blind buy it and save Netflix viewing for The Ridiculous 6. Tarantino is one of a kind. Love almost every one of his flicks.

Saw the it in 70mm roadshow edition in the Cinerama Dome. While this film will be fine with smaller screens a bigger one won't hurt.

Any Doom fans here? I just saw the preview for Doom 4 and it looks fun! I am only interested in the campaign mode so I am contemplating preordering it for May release.

I can't endorse Indigenous. As much as I like a survivalist, creature feature, this misses what should be a really easy mark to hit.

Although not horror but some decent blood and guts are abound in The Hateful Eight. Now I couldn't watch this flick without interruption but I did finish it and I thought it was good. I think I need to see it again and a film in this OAR makes always want a bigger screen. Wabo is right there are some great one liners! My favorite was one said by Kurt Russell to Jennifer Jason Leigh in the beginning of the film.

Spoiler!

Here is a Doom 4 trailer I found. Looks good but I told myself I will stay away from shooter games but this is Doom!

Was it that bad?? I thought it was at least slightly worth my time. I know one thing for sure, I've seen a helluva lot worse.

Sorry fellas, don't mean to turn this into my own personal HT upgrade thread...but thought I would toss up a few progress pics. This was originally going to be a plug and play operation...but unforeseen setbacks, cables lengths that are no longer compatible with my new config, lack of time to work on things, and the decision to pre-buy for Atmos/DSU/Auro.....has made this quite the task. Don't know about you guys, but it was amazingly liberating to disconnect all of my old wires/cables/plug-ins/etc and start from scratch with a plan of attack. I can't tell you how long I've wanted to do this.

Anyway, here's a couple of shots. Speaker cables/XLR cables are not connected yet so no impressions yet on how everything sounds. My second Outlaw amp for height speakers is coming on Monday...along with a stackable shelf for the amp stand and another train car full of cables. Anyway, I promise to limit this to maybe one last post when I get everything setup.
