Those moments are more rare than gold-pressed latinum. Cherish the quiet house.

It's that thing dangling in front of you your whole working life. That moment when you say I'm done and you get an RV and travel off into the sunset with your significant other. Or in my case you end up with a medical issue that nearly kills you and you can no longer work and your stuck at home with your significant other, contemplating what was worse, work or this

Sorry to hear about your medical issue. I'll be 70 this December but am still plowing along to keep bills paid. Fortunately I can do stuff from home. An old friend who retired in July, took a trip to visit his kids came back and found the place he retired from asking him back as his replacement had bailed.

Also creative people don't generally retire as we like our work too much but we tend to shift to what we want to do than what others want us to do.

Medical issue has been fixed, and so far everything is good. I was in construction and a union member. I worked for the same company for 28 years and paid into my pension for 35 years. Due to my condition, I really can't work in the trades . Between SS Disability and my pension, all isn't too bad. Being that I'm only 53, I've got a long way to go. Thinking of taking up Lion taming as a hobby

Watched Victor Frankenstein today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Decent PG13 Horror lite flick with some cool practice effects.

It's a really fun season. I'm kinda bummed it's over. I could use a few extra episodes.

Sorry you are going thru that, i got a similar bad situation here in my retirement with my wife and her cancer. Our whole lives are either going to doctors/hospitals/clinics/tests or sitting on the couch watching tv (which i let her control, now more than ever since i try to do everything she wants to make her happy with what she is going thru). Its killed both of us mentally. Hope your situation gets better Steve. Ours doesnt look good longterm.
