Pretty obscure! Saw it somehow back when and imported a region B Blu-ray recently.

Review: The Shout (1978).

These eight images are taken from eight different movies. Name them in the order shown.

I will confirm partial results as they are posted, but only the player posting the final unknown gets the point.

Answer:

Spoiler!

OK, these two are Parker and Money Train, but I honestly don't know where they fit into the previous photos. By hairstyle, I'm going to say 1 and 5.

People are really excited about this one.

More clues. Remember: you have to give the title and position in the original list of eight films.

I think they may be:

1: Gigli
2: Second Act
3: Parker
6: The Wedding Planner

Although I can't say I have seen any of those movies...

Thank you for sparing me the trouble of posting more clues!

1. Gigli (rhymes with "really")
2. Second Act (still at Redbox; like Working Girl but worse)
3. Parker (less Statham fantasy than usual)
4. Anaconda
5. Money Train (sorry the aspect ratio is cropped; that's the DVD)
6. The Wedding Planner (she's mugging for her father: "You have found me a husband? Take me to him!")
7. Out of Sight
8. U-Turn (Good cast, but Oliver Stone needs someone to restrain him)

Parker is interesting as a trivia footnote. It's the first adaptation of a Donald E. Westlake novel (Flashfire) that uses the character's original name. During his lifetime, Westlake forbid the use of the Parker name in movie adaptations. He was renamed Walker in Point Blank, McClain in The Split, Macklin in The Outfit, and Porter in Payback. After the author died, his wife agreed top sell the name rights.

Shame it wasn’t a better movie, or at least as good as its predecessors

Not sure what anyone else thinks, but I was pretty disappointed with it myself. It was watchable, I guess, and it had some interesting parts. But overall I didn't find it very good.

I watched it as a Fanning double feature of sorts with Please Stand By. Totally unrelated films, but I liked Please Stand By a lot better.... and it strangely had a better Star Trek plot than the last real Star Trek film (not that it'd take a lot to have beat it).

Once only for me, although I give them credit for aliens who are really "alien". And yet still able to enter into human comedy and romance.

Would viewers who were actually part of the punk scene like it better? Don't know. With time punk recedes into "aw, weren't they cute"? which they would have found infuriating.

A funny bit: the aliens understand that humans expect to be "probed".

Jamaica Inn it is.

Alfred Hitchcock must have been a big fan turning this, Rebecca, and her short story The Birds into movies.

I don't have a citation, but I recollect that it was just an accidental association. Three De Maurier stories but he was not close to her or especially fond of her work.
