Under Fire with Nick Nolte. Ashamed to say I can't remember the lead actress. Watched it a few years ago when I picked up a Blu copy of Salvador, which made for a very heavy evening's entertainment. Recent history down the memory hole...

Hard to think of too many military-ish movies Ed has been in, which is strange because he's a perfect fit.

Correct! Gene Tierney's cheekbones are a "distinguishing mark or feature".

Correct. Jackie Chan risking life and limb for our entertainment.

Available on Blu-ray this week from Criterion in a set with Police Story 2. (The rights to the best entry, Police Story 3: Super Cop, are sadly tied up elsewhere.) I have the British copy from Eureka, released last year. Pretty sure Criterion's is a direct port.

Recently released on Blu-ray by Mill Creek with a new 4k restoration. Still looks like crap and sounds atrocious.

Police Story and Police Story 2 are coming out on DVD and Blu-ray from Criterion. Saw artwork based on the clue image screenshot in a Criterion Collection announcement a day later. Coming to The Criterion Channel? One can hope.

I'm sure it does. That's not quite the same as saying that it looks good, though.

It's funny that those DVD shots look way too dark, while the Blu-ray has the opposite problem and is too bright. Contrast is cranked up and there's white clipping all over the place.

You get what you pay for. The Andy Sidaris 12 film DVD set is currently $8 on Amazon. I picked it up several years ago. I don't remember how much I paid but I doubt it was much more than that.

No Leigh-Taylor Young here. Also no early Atari (?) video game. (Oh, and the guy was Joseph Cotton.)
