Hint #2 (and this doesn't ring the research bell, so research is still off-limits):

It reminded me in some ways of the video game, The Last of Us -- minus the fungally-infected, clicking pseudo-zombies. The father/daughter + coming of age story + end of the world dynamic however has some similarities.

Yep, you got it.

And it's not bad. It's similar in some ways to The Road, but less gloomy. It focuses more on the father/daughter story, rather than the plague, so it's not really just another 'end of the world/we are all doomed' type of film. And Anna Pniowsky as the daughter does a really good job. It can be a bit slow in parts, but it's not into arthouse slooooow territory. Overall I liked it, but just don't expect action or the typical dystopian end of the world stuff... or even that many characters.

Tack likes this.

I don't know that "fan" is the right word. I haven't seen it in years, but was pretty amused by it when I was young and foolish.

Good try, rdgrimes. But no cigar.

Research will be permitted in about 37 hours and 20 minutes. Til then, you must use just yer noodle on this one.

The dates are not required btw. Just the names of the two movies. And the lead actor in each one.
