We've pointed out some reaction channels before. This guy is yet another hip-hop head just getting into metal. He's generally pretty entertaining. This particular reaction video (AC/DC - Back In Black) is the first that's literally had me laughing tears, so I thought I'd share it. It's important that you watch the Thunderstruck reaction first to get the hilarity of the Back In Black reaction.

I'll shamelessly use this post to advertise my own band, hah!
All recorded, mixed and mastered in my studio
(Recording my own band was the first attempt I made at that, then decided to take it a step further)
I'm the drummer btw

Nice, I like it!! Especially that slow break down part, "the end is near the end is coming".

Very underrated Met song IMO especially the section that starts at 3:58 which I believe is a Hetfield solo.

Speaking of Metallica, last week I saw them for the 8th time here in Kansas City. They broke the all time attendence record for our largest arena. Man, they sounded great. Perfect volume and crystal clear. Good times.

I'm with you carp, I love this song. Like several of the songs from that album I think maybe it could use a 30-60 second trimming, but that's a minor complaint. This is an instrumental that makes you feel something.

I just introduced my 3yo boy to Metallica last night. Sometimes he’ll ask to hear a “loud” song which generally is any high energy rock. Loves Jane’s Addiction’s Just Because. So last night I played him Jump In The Fire, Whiplash and Trapped Under Ice. He was worn out after Whiplash from dancing around. However, he got a good sound sleep through the night.

First, my two front runners for AOTY thus far go to:

Deathspell Omega - The Furnaces of Palingenesia
https://deathspellomega.bandcamp.com...f-palingenesia

If you don't know DsO you might be in for a bit of a shock, as they are both 'avantgarde' and 'dissonant' while being black metal. This might be one of their most accessible albums as it has pretty good riffs that are hooky enough to keep your attention throughough, but DsO can best be described as controlled chaos. I don't like a lot of dissonant extreme metal but somehow they use it in a way that is still very beautiful and not off-putting.

Deus Mortem - Kosmocide
https://malignantvoices.bandcamp.com/album/kosmocide
Again a black metal album, but this one is very different than the former. It is semi-melodic, the drums are fantastic and the riffs and solos are great. Production is good for BM as M from MGLA did it.

Onto more friendly metal appealing to a wider audience...

Tanith - In Another Time
https://tanithnyc.bandcamp.com/album/in-another-time

This is more friendly to more audiophiles as it isn't heavy, has dueling guitars (Satan's guitarist is one), both a seduction female and a clean singing male vocalist. Kinds sounds like Wishbone Ash to me. DR rating is pretty high, production is good.

Dreadnought - Emergence
https://dreadnoughtdenver.bandcamp.com/album/emergence
Billed as progressive metal, which is it but borrows on some metalcore, some doom and a bunch of other stuff. Not usually my thing but it definitely works well. Female vocals, both clean and harsh.

Plenty of other good stuff this year, but this is a little of my fave plus great stuff that a wider audience might enjoy.

I saw Slayer with Amon Amarth and Lamb of God a week or so ago. I didn't get there in time to see Cannibal Corpse, but I saw the other 3 bands. Amon Amarth and Lamb of God both sounded fantastic, perfect volume where it's all clear but at the same time you still get the chest punch. Slayer had much higher volume. The speakers sounded over driven and distorted. Sucks...

The concert would have been worth it for AA alone. Having been to hundreds of concerts I've experienced far more shows that sounded like Slayer than AA and LOG unfortunately.

(Death metal)

It's been more than 10 years since their exceptional Hate Takes Its Form album, and while this new one isn't quite as good, it has the heaviness and groove I crave that I find lacking in most death metal today, as well as excellent vocals.
