Errol Flynn

Captain Blood(1935) Fabulous film.

It's a spectacle which will establish both Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland.
Nominated for 5 Oscars

The film that introduced us to the ultimate swashbuckler, Errol Flynn. Even though Flynn was known for being the Tasmanian Devil, he identified as an Irishman due to his fathers lineage. Luckily for Flynn, he got to play the charming Irish physician Peter Blood. It also features the supremely talented Olivia de Havilland, as Arabella. There are multiple enemies facing Blood, the most memorable being Basil Rathborne's performance as the cocky Frenchman Levasseur. This is the ultimate pirate film, that many other films of the genre have tried to replicate.

The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) 10/10

What's not to like? Brilliant colors. Rousing story. Errol Flynn & Olivia De Havilland.

Dashing Flynn in the definitive swashbuckler,"so to speak"; winning hand of de Havilland (never lovelier as Maid Marian), foiling evil prince Rains, dueling wicked Rathbone. Erich Wolfgang Korngold's outstanding score earned an Oscar, as did the art direction and editing. Scripted by Norman Reilly Raine and Seton I. Miller. Arguably Flynn's greatest role.

47 Ronin - 3D (2013) - Carl Rinsch directs. Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rinko Kikuchi and Min Tanaka. Score by Ilan Eshkeri.

Movie mixing fantasy with an actual event. Troubled production and bad release date in December made this a box-office bomb. Post-production 3D is fair but it could have been much better given the movie premise. A few pop-outs and decent 3D depth at times but generally a dark and flat looking presentation. The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track is excellent.

The opening scene where Hawkeye's daughter was shooting arrows..
The conversation was 72db's and jumped to 84db's when she hit the bullseye... but after he realized his family had disappeared there was a huge bass slam... of 118db's..!!!

Nazi Overlord
(2018)

Oh Lord... what a terrible mistake !!!...
I rented this crap thinking it was the "Overlord" movie (Produced by J.J.Abrams / Bad Robot Production).
Both have a similar plot. The beginning of "Nazi Overlord" is actually pretty promising. But it goes down the drain pretty quickly.
Bad acting, bad story, bad visual effects, unlikable characters.
There's even a stupid and unnecessary (IMO) nude scene that doesn't add anything at all to the story.
Stay Away !!!!!

A Vigilante (2018) - Written and directed by Sarah Daggar-Nickson in her directorial debut. Olivia Wilde, Morgan Spector, Kyle Catlett, C.J. Wilson, Tonye Patano, Chuck Cooper, Betsy Aidem and Judy Marte.

Currently streaming on Amazon Prime. A powerful, dark and emotional film driven by Wilde's performance. Her (The Equalizer) type character deals with spouse and family abusers made relevant by her backstory. Not for everyone. The Blu-ray released in May 2019.

The Assignment from 1997, an enjoyable action/spy jam about the Jackal. This is far better than The Jackal 1997 with more twist and turns. Though low budget, Aidan Quinn from Benny & Joon was solid in this sleeper with Donald Sutherland as the CIA operative.

Revisited last night. Still a powerful drama. Leads are excellent. Film was nominated for 3 Academy Awards. Haunting score by Jóhann Jóhannsson. Cinematography by Roger Deakins. Screenplay by Taylor Sheridan whose scripts for Yellowstone has make it the most popular series on the Paramount Network.
Though there was some reassurance in summer of 2018 by Producer Thad Luckinbill, there's still no Sicario 3 in sight.

Get it done!

It's probably due to the sequel which sorely missed Emily Blunt's role and performance.

Could be. Or money (stars want more $$$). Or three years between 1 & 2, so 3 could be a 2020 shoot and 2021 release.

1st budget $30M, gross $84M. 2nd budget $30M, gross $75M. Not much 'tween them in viewer preference, IMDb 7.6 vs 7.1.
