Damn Yankees (1958) (Netflix DVD, IMDB) - Baseball / Musical / Comedy. Would you sell your soul to the devil (Ray Walston) to have the Washington Senators beat those damn Yankees? Shoeless Joe (Tab Hunter) did! Quite entertaining!

My very humble setup:

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. The last movie I have seen was John Wick 3. I like this movie so much especially the way how he fights and shoots.

Dreamscape (1984) - Joseph Ruben directs. Dennis Quaid, Max von Sydow, Christopher Plummer, Eddie Albert, Kate Capshaw and David Patrick Kelly.

Sandwiched between The Right Stuff and Enemy Mine in Dennis Quaid's career comes this film. I first saw this film back in the day of over-the-air scrambled signal broadcaster SelecTV which included R rated and softcore porn. The current Blu-ray versions of this film do not include any of the mild nudity of that broadcast including the infamous breast shots of Kate Capshaw. Urban legend claims that version of the movie has been suppressed by now-husband Steven Spielberg.

Any rate I rewatched this last night on the free Shout TV streaming channel, it's available for free streaming elsewhere including Tubi and Amazon Prime. Time has not been kind to the story elements or CGI, it's one of those films you wonder why it hasn't been remade. For some reason the Shout TV streaming version had a fair amount of judder, especially notable in the panning shots.

Another weak moment, Netflix.

Blackhat (2015) Hacker/Ex-Con/Action Figure reaps dividends. Directed by Michael Mann ('Public Enemies','The Insider', 'Heat').

Viola Davis ('Fences', 'The Help') stands out easily.

Logan Lucky (in 4K UHD on Prime Video). Directed by Soderbergh with an impressive cast. Unfortunately, the film doesn't really work as an action/thriller heist caper, or as a comedy, or as a drama, even though it has elements of all those.

Skip it.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) - Henry Levin directs. James Mason, Pat Boone, Arlene Dahl, Peter Ronson and Thayer David.

The screenwriters, Charles Brackett and Walter Reisch, freely admit the script barely resembles the original Jules Verne story. Cheesy fun and a boyhood favorite. James Mason gives it just enough gravitas...along with Gertrude the Duck.

One of the reasons I love VUDU. I had worn down the DVD from overwatching (work with me here, I know you can't wear down a DVD), and despaired of seeing a higher resolution / quality version (bluray) of the 13th warrior, when it came up on VUDU at 1080p resolution.

Got it immediately using the disk to digital deal they had at the time, cost me two dollars. Have then worn it down on the VUDU servers since.

Watched Aquaman (4K UHD) and Game Night (BR) this weekend. Greatly enjoyed both of them, though was particularly impressed with Game Night. Fantastic cinematography, top-notch script, great performances (hat-tip to Jesse Plemons and the Danny Huston cameo), and such excellent chemistry across the entire cast. Was not expecting that.

A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures Native 3D Blu-Ray

This is the most amazing use of 3D that I have seen in any film to date. Sadly, most won't be able to obtain this Blu-ray disc as it is only coded for region B. Or so I thoughtIf you look to Honk Kong It is Region A/1

Before you guys kick me off this thread. I bought this for it 3D reputation. As it turns out A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventures is also a really fun , charming and enjoyable film

I really wanted to like this one. I just could not. I found it flat and I didn't really care about anyone.

Maybe it was timing or mindset. I still have it. I'm going to give it another shot.

Thanks for bringing it up.

People run hot and cold on this film mainly because of the third act. I have liked it since seeing in its limited theatrical release. It's the cast and director that is the biggest draw for me. Cillian Murphy, Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, Michelle Yeoh, Cliff Curtis, Troy Garity, Hiroyuki Sanada and Benedict Wong. I usually revisit it every 1-2 years.

I just added it to my Netflix account.
I'm now interested to see why some really-really like it and others are totally turned-off on it.

Captain Marvel (2019) - Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck direct. Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Annette Bening, Clark Gregg and Jude Law.

First time watching last night streaming on iTunes 7.1. Looked and sounded great. I avoided all spoilers beforehand so I thought it was a clever origin story and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The 4K Blu-ray with Atmos releases June 11, 2019.
