Ticks (1993) on The Movie Channel

The opening scene had Clint Howard in it, so you knew it was going to be bad. Still fun to watch. It's the kind of schlock that Ed Wood would be proud of.

Please explain why you think it's going to be bad. It's a long running series in the U.K. which happens to be really good. It played like an ep. of the TV series; which isn't a bad thing. You don't have to watch the series to like it. On BBC America it is called MI:5.

Oh ok, I wasn't aware of that, just looks like a crappy budget Bourne Identity rip off from the cover.

One of the Netflix discs I have at home just happens to be Toy Soldiers (1991) on DVD, which the Netflix page claims the disc has an aspect ratio of 1.33:1. (IMDB says the movie had an aspect ratio of 1.85:1.)

Edited to add: Yes, the Toy Soldiers DVD is 1.33:1, so I am not seeing any more picture than you saw on the VHS.

Last night I watched Man of Steel (2013) on Netflix Blu-ray.

Right now I am watching Poltergeist (1982) on Netflix Blu-ray. I also have the Poltergeist II / Poltergeist III DVD at home, and Netflix claims the disc is anamorphic 2.35:1 & anamorphic 1.85:1.
