Time to put on my music critic's hat.
This video was obviously done rather quickly, so I can't be too critical of the videography and what have you. I like the stark look of the imagery though. And I think it fits with the down-tempo, but not necessarily down-beat
mood of the song. And I also like the song. The choreo, which is basic, looks a little stiff to me at times. But is ok for the most part.
One can't help but think of Alicia Keys' iconic tune of the same name...
So it was sort of a bold move on Minzy's part to try to "remake" her concept. That's what hip-hop artists do though. Take the old, and flip it around to make something new and their own. This isn't a complete 180, but it's different enough from Alicia's original tune to be interesting.
Minzy's singing is not as polished or sophisticated as Alicia's. (Ailee is closer imo.) But she is certainly no slouch in the vocal department (see the next video for more proof of that). And can definitely put some chills up your spine when she wants to. And she does a pretty nice job with her
concept for the song, which is the important thing. I think the "you're so beautiful" line might have been stronger though without the falsetto.
That's about it.
