Is that another pod race? Lame. This franchise lost me years ago. I know I know I'm the only anti Star Wars guy left but these movies look awful. The last one I actually watched was episode 2. When they reboot these in 3 years like they always do and JJ has moved on maybe I'll reconsider.

Doesn't really look like a pod race to me. All of the vehicles are the same. Looks like they are speeding toward a group of Walkers. Must be a battle.

J.J. has already moved on. The Last Jedi is directed by Rian Johnson.

I don't care if I have to watch it at my local sh*taplex (which I will). No one is going to dissuade me from seeing this in the theater.

Exactly. I'm thinking of starting off with some Wookie wings appetizer and a fresh cold mug of midichlorians to wash 'em down.

The Platinum package it's going to cost you $$$. Just to Aquire the Vegemite is going to be hard. I will have to jump in my car and go too the local supermarket in aisle 3 and battle the Aussie ladies for a jar of Vegemite( could get violent ). Might have to get my wife to go on that adventure.

You're calling in the Mrs Franin? This is way out of my pay grade. Just get me the expired vegemite down in aisle 7.

Yeah, even the last Jedi won't go down aisle 7. Send Jar Jar. He'll go.

I hope this one isn't afraid to be it's own story finally. I felt like TFA played it way too safe and came off like a imitation of A New Hope, and not nearly as good or memorable to me.

Seems this episode has our main protagonist (and R2D2) on a wet planet being trained in the ways of the force by the last remaining Jedi master. How's that for being its own story?
Scott Simonian and Tack like this.

Yeah, really hope that's as close as it gets, if it's literally a main plot beat for beat retelling of ESB like TFA was this new trilogy is gonna to take a place even behind the prequels for me.

At least the prequels gave us some fun fight scenes and didn't feel like we already saw them before (though that's not saying much, cause I though aside from the fight scenes they weren't very good movies).

Because you were expecting something new and unique and not ESB v2.0?

I'm super optimistic that Rian Johnson will pull this off and do a much better job than JJ Abrams. So hyped for this movie. I wish they could film these quicker though and not waste time on spin offs and solo star wars movies in the meantime. Rogue one was good but the han solo spinoff is such a poorly thought out idea. Cash grab!

With Star Wars, even if I ultimately don't think any given one of them is all that great, there's enough spectacle to make up for it, at least for one watch. The last one was pretty good.
