Slightly optimistic since I didn't get any serious face palm cringes by the trailer.
A bit concerned with the air plane scenes in the trailer, seems like the typical "this goes to eleven" pitfall.

Anyway it doesn't look like Genesys with "I'm a morg" and what not (wtf, still haven't seen the movie due to that trailer).

I have to admit I was pretty excited to see this trailer and I'm seriously thinking about seeing the film when it comes out.

Yes Linda got old. No Sarah Conner didn't. She gets out of that SUV and lets fly like it's just another day in the office.

Here's hoping it undoes T3, 4 and 5....

On a different note, I watched the Toy Story 4 trailer and immediately thought rental...

Sony XBR-85X900F, Oppo 203 UHD, Denon X6300H, Emotiva UPA5 (triggered), Wharfedale Pacific Evo 40s, CS, 10s, PC DX12 sub, Def Tech A60 Atmos tops, the internet and a Nvidia Shield. There's also a Wii, but we don't talk about that...

The fact that Sarah Connor is alive already retcons T3, at least.

Time travel allows this franchise to go with the "alternate timelines" approach. All of the movies and the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series can exist within the same multiverse even when they contradict one another, which they frequently do.

They've made Michael Douglas and Kurt Russell young again; why not give Linda the "treatment"?

When you stop watching what they want you to watch you stop thinking what they want you to think.. Then you see a world that is nothing like they tell you it is.

Looks like Genisys all over again. This franchise has just been going in circles. Isn't this like the third reboot now?

I've lost count and also stopped caring. Looks like we get yet another dust particle T-whatever antagonist who will be indestructible throughout the whole movie until finally being destroyed by a deus ex machina.

Cameron is one of the co-writers on this. That makes a difference.

Are you so sure that makes a difference? He has gone down to George Lucas level of writing dialogue. Hopefully the other writers have been tasked with the dialogue.

And now he says he only did that because of his friendship with Arnold and he really thought the movie sucked. So the guy is just a shyster. I don't really care what he has to say.

There have been screenings and this absolutely sounds as bad as Genisys if not worse.

Take it with a grain of salt most screenings are under NDA's and people have been fired for leaks.

Also movies with really high screening scores seem to never be that good in my opinion.

There is something known in film and TV screening research as tests good, but plays bad. There are films that tested great that never found an audience in commercial release. If you build it..there is no guarantee they will come.

The more I see of this, the less interesting it looks. It indeed looks like a rehash of T2, made to fit a "contemporary perspective".

Studio - "Hey, we need you on the next Terminator Film, Arnie has signed on!"

"Oh really, that's interesting. You realize I'm on enough meds to kill a farm animal, have to go pee every 30-40 minutes
all day. Will there be enough toilets on set to accommodate that?"

Studio - "Ah ... sure, we can get that done" "Actually Mr Schwarzenegger has a similar request"

Well keep mine separate - I'm not leaving this project with half of Mexico's viruses - GOT IT?

Studio - "Yes Mam, we'll make sure you're well protected. Thanks for your time - we'll get with your agent"

"Oh, and no love scenes - I'm over it"

Studio - "well we haven't read the script, so ...."

"so, nothing! I'll wear a t shirt, but that's it! Capiche?!!"

Studio - OK, Got It

That said, I often enjoy flicks that didn't fare well with the masses during a rental viewing.

I had heard the premise for this is a direct sequel to T2, ie ignoring all other films other than T1, T2. If so, I'll throw it a bone and see if it stands as a decent scifi time travel/robot takeover tale & closure to T1, T2.

I plan to give it a rental when available via Prime, or a buy if Ralph Potts recommends and scifi geeks agree.

I got burned on Salvation, seeing it within a day or two of the premiere, though I enjoyed Genisys.

I was planning to see it this weekend on a large screen Atmos theater, but got pissed they raised prices even for matinee's- ~$10 now!?

May as well wait for stream rental or purchase, disc rental or purchase, since the cost is the same or lower for 2 people.

Just a year or 2 ago, matinee's were ~$5-$6 at my goto screens- MJR and Cinemark.

~5 years ago was a nice commercial cinema renaissance around SE MI as new ones were built and older ones upgraded with a big screen room, Atmos or equivalent, latest speakers and audio, projector upgrades and latest motorized recliners. First time since I built my first dedicated basement theater ~1999 that I felt the commercial experience was actually as good or better than my home setup.

Don't plan to do much commercial cinema again.

Normally, I'm adamantly against reading spoilers, but I made an exception for this one. Someone posted a review with major spoilers, and I'm so pissed about what I read that I will NEVER watch this POS in ANY venue, and am adding it to the list of movies whose existence I don't even want to acknowledge.
