X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019)

In theaters February 14, 2019

Quote:
In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean
Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic
force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more
unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither
comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most,
she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling
apart, they must find a way to unite -- not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from
aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Since Logan is gone I like Michael Fassbender as a actor most, Id like to see them do a Magneto stand alone

That trailer is not very interesting or encouraging.

Originally they had talked about a Magneto origin story as a stand alone film, but they end up wrapping it into a larger X-Men film.

Dark Phoenix is been moved to June 7th, 2019. Using it as a summer release is actually a vote of confidence.

Saw this at the early premiere in IMAX last night and...I didn't find this one to be quite as bad as it has been construed as being. Sure, it could have adhered a bit more to the original comics, but even the liberties taken here are not so great. YMMV, as with anything.

Thoughts, anyone?

I saw it today, and I'm baffled by the terrible reviews this is getting with some people saying it's the worst X-men movie ever. I found it much better than X-3 or Wolverine:Origins. Without getting into spoilers, I think they adhered to the original story about as much as could reasonably be expected in a 2 hour movie. This one rates about equal to First Class for me, which I put below DoFP and X2.

I'm waiting for the Fantastic Four movie that Marvel will make someday and people going it's not as good as the previous ones..Which people hated when they came out. I liked the trailers for Dark Phoenix hope to see it later in the week.

I loved the FF movie. The first one, anyway. I didn't bother with the reboot from a few years back. Hoping Marvel does it justice with a "rebirth". Question is: can we get Chris Evans back?

I liked the first ones, except for Galactus who isn't a cloud, he's supposed to be like Thanos on steroids. We still need a real Silver Surfer movie.

It is by no standard amazing, but definitely not so bad as the critics suggest.

Saw this liked it, it felt like the writers may actually have some knowledge of X-Men comics. As good an actor as Ian McKellen is, Michael Fassbender is Magneto.
