If the F&F franchise has become what it is today, it's largely because of these 2 guys joining the team, no offense Vin

Looking forward to it!

Looks like another great mindless action flick that doesn't take itself too seriously...another $1B for NBCU!

Last FnF film I saw was #74 . Havent seen the last 30 or so.

These films have LONG run their course. Unless this thing has a killer LFE track when it hits UHD blu, I dont even have enough interest to rent it. Just saw a trailer on TV and this looks horrible even for a mindless action film.

Would you pay to watch The Rock and Jason Statham try to take down Idris Elba as a bad guy. Yes I would.

Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of the F&F franchise...love it
Also a huge fan of The Rock and Idris

WITH THAT SAID, you should absolutely temper expectations if you plan to spend money and see this

I saw this tonight in Dolby. There are no surprises here. If you've seen the trailer, or any other installment in the franchise, you know exactly what you're getting. It's not about the destination, just one helluva ride. There's lots of action and lots of humor. And somehow, the series is still about family, even in this spinoff. Although I will say the one thing that surprised me is how big and good a role Vanessa Kirby has.

The A/V is superb. Top notch Dolby Vison+Atmos presentation. The aesthetic is a cross between Leitch and Sela's previous movie, Atomic Blonde, mixed with the last few F&F movies.

And know that there are 3 credits scenes, including one at the very end after the credits. But they are all silly and not setting up another movie or anything AFAIK. So you can skip them if you need to run to the bathroom.

I haven't seen them all in the theater, but it adds to the experience when you can go. I remember the one where Vin D. got the call from Jason S. at the end.."Dominic Toretto you don't know me. You're about to".
and people were "That's Statham ! Holy C___".

I saw something on Instagram from The Rock and he said he got a call from Universal to say congratulations on the new franchise, so they're happy with it.

Caught this tonight - Crazy, impossible fight/stunt scenes and no chance of any real story with any background.
Somehow I still enjoyed it, but I think I was in the mood for something like this. I've never seen any of the F&F films except the first one, so I have little background to work with if this was connected in any way.
Without the 2 leads, this would never work IMO. Those guys tend to chew the screen and keep you interested.
It's a thin line surrounded by an overload of "Action" like so much else these days.

Would have been just as good with half the action and more time on the tech background to support the "Super Hero Like" things
in the film. But then you'd have to write the story a little better, so,,, stick with mindless BS like explaining the virus with a few lines of dialog. My Opinion

Saw this twice now and it was even better for the second time with full on Atmos this time. None of these movies have deep plots or even plausible stunts, so what? They are fun and the bickering between the leads were entertaining as well. I'll take this over the "Feminator" any day of the week.

So Im like...well its f and f presents this so low standards already. Read the story of it and im thinking oh its Mission impossible 2 remade.

So the movie just goes on and on. I got a couple laughs from the movie but mostly this movie just plain sucked. The animation was the worst part, it got shut off after the string of 4 4wd vehicles were attached to the helicopter and he used nitrous on the front axle to pull them all back in.

Stay away from this one!
