Doris Day passes @ 97

Doris Day, America's box-office sweetheart of the '50s and '60s, is dead at 97

"Doris Day, the box-office queen and singing star whose wholesome, all-American image belied an often-turbulent personal life, has died, her foundation announced Monday.
She was 97...….

Day was arguably the top female box-office star in Hollywood history, with a No. 1 ranking in 1960, 1962, 1963 and 1964. She had her first hit as a big-band vocalist during World War II before making nearly 40 movies in the next two decades, reigning supreme at a time when her contemporaries included Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor."

I heard this morning. Very sad. Quite the iconic actress. Pillow Talk, Please Don't eat the Daisies, Pajama Game. She worked through last year at the age of 96.

Such a lovely singer and actress. Always loved her voice. It made me feel good every time I heard it. Rest in Peace and thanks for all those good feelings, Doris.

Ummm... how is passing away at 97 sad!?! That should be cause for a celebration!

If you make it to 90 in this day and age, you've WON! I'm serious. My generation will be lucky to make it to 70 let alone 80!

A native and fellow Ohioan, originally from Cincinnati, she was a little before my time. Posting because another Ohioan passed also this past week. Thomas Daniel "Tim" Conway, 85, from Willoughby (just north of Cleveland) also passed away. Now he I do remember, thanks to the Carol Burnett Show. Back when humor didn't even have to use profanities.
