Every 10 ten years or so this whining boomer propaganda, make the circuit. Last time it was rap is killing rock. Hollywood won't die, it's owned by a handful of companies that own the studios, streaming services, and the networks. This game is only in the second inning. And the stadium has no exits.

In case you haven't noticed, virtually all music genres suck in their current incarnation (Gospel, Rock, Pop, Hip-hop, Country, R&B, etc). Mind you, there's also a few really good exceptions in every genre. There's lots of underground undiscovered talent, but to get on radio, you have to sound like the current Top 40 trash. I mostly listen to retro stuff (mid 90s and earlier)...

Radio is a thing you listen to via tin can and a string. Billboard Magazine often refers to it, though I don't subscribe to either...

Country music is now more than ever a relatively easy go-to for some success. Proper voice affectation is fairly simple, and songs are written about practically any everyday experience. You opened a can of tuna? Well, there's a song!

It's interesting how pretty much the only good rock songs made today are those that long for the past. Take, for instance, "Saudade," a song made for the ending of the Resident Evil 2 Remake videogame. It basically addresses the time back in 1998 when we played the original version of the game, and how much better things seemed before our lives got crushed by a series of disappointments and calamities. It's hard to look back.
