What no PIP, 2 TV's quick remote fingers, Splitter with a second set?

The Akai has 3 & 7 1/2 IPS settings along with a setting for Hi Bias tape.

I had a Bell Sound Systems BT-610 years ago that only had stereo Playback, believe that had a 3rd speed for Speech.

What no PIP, 2 TV's quick remote fingers, Splitter with a second set?

Don't have a splitter and PIP, plus the New England game was not avaiable OTA.

No, just thought you ingenious guys might have some tricks to get football games not being broadcast in our area without the use of cable.

Akai machines were great units. I never had a Bell one but did have a Panasonic when I was a kid.

I remember Akai even made higher quality 8 track machines, one of which I still have in the basement as a spare.

I'm sure Andrew K can snag an extra CBS Affiliate at any given time, this was the first Browns game i was able to watch now in well over a year with my lack of WOIO & later WJW. 8 started appearing again for me once the leaves fell.

Andrew K must be getting ready for Christmas, I haven't seen any Akron Tropo reports in a while, tis the season!

I can pickup the Youngstown stations 24/7, which is great for NFL games. Gets around the local home game blackout and there sometimes there are different games on. I'd be hard to pickup any other CBS or FOX affiliates on a regular basis from the Akron area though. It would be cool though. I think the next closest would be Stubenville? Long shot though.

A great resource for OTA folks for NFL is http://the506.com. Maps are put up every week showing what market gets what games.

What?! Never heard of it? Is that a new diginet?

I was hoping they would keep .4 available for Antenna TV if WJW dropped it. 24 hour court shows? No thanks.

Looks like Antenna is going to be relegated to WEKA/WQDI. Hopefully they'll built their new transmitter in Brecksville by then.

The station doesnt launch until May 2019. Trip puts some listings as "soon" based on info he has currently. The station will have agreements with Scripps, Tribune and Univision O&O stations. Since the article states "Eight Scripps markets will carry Court TV, including Tampa, Fla.; Detroit; Cleveland; Cincinnati; Las Vegas; Tulsa, Okla.; Green Bay, Wis. and Tucson, Ariz." Trip put it tentatively under WEWS

The only other CBS affiliate I can receive 24/7 is the WKBN/WYTV combo.

There was tropo on Sunday... had WAWV Terre Haute IN, WYZZ Bloomington IL, and WICD Champaign IL. Several Cincinnati DTVs were decoding that morning, but I'm the only one who seems to get tropo here.

Wonder how long they will be saying "on the new Court TV" in their promos. Seriously, they can stop doing that with Grit as the network is almost 5 years old.

I get it too, but I rarely search for it unless I'm awake late at night. Columbus, Pitts, Fort Wayne, Indy, but never to the northwest for me in Westfield Twp, Medina county.

The only thing I'd have to criticize, and I don't think it's the network, is that the Ed Sullivan Show is zoomed in to fill the 16:9 aspect, more so than the 14:9 aspect that Weigel usually applies to the 4:3 shows. This results in annoying pans so that the graphics in the lower-third portion of the frame can be seen, and they just barely make it on the screen without overscaning the picture.

I take it that these Ed Sullivan Shows are just compilations that aired by in the 90's, judging by the graphics.

I don't like the zooming either but it's similar to what some of the other channels do. But I would rather see the show as it was originally as it usually looks sharper with more detail.

Here are some bandwidth measurements of WBNX 55.4, before and after the inclusion of 55.5 & 55.6. These were my DVR recordings of JAG, which now come out to be about ~7.7 gigabytes in size instead of ~9.5 gigabytes.

Before (11-21-2018)

After (12-12-2018)

We're now in phase 2 of the repacking. WSEE in Erie just moved from DT 16 to 21. WOUC will be moving during this phase from 35 to 6, so WLFM-LP doesn't have much longer. I'm not sure when the move will occur.

WBGU Bowling Green recently moved from 27 to 22, and WNWO Toledo recently moved from 49 to 23 (both in phase 1).

I discovered an analog on channel 21 Sunday night. It turns out to be a fill-in repeater for Toronto's CFTO-TV. The repeater is about 200 kW with a tower 570' above average terrain located near Orillia Ontario (282 miles from Akron). See photo.

My guess would be the 1st of the new year. That's when the La Mega LMA contract took effect, so they probably didn't renew it.

Another prediction is that the station may convert to exclusive online streaming once WLFM signs off, or perhaps be carried on someone's HD-2/HD-3 channel. I highly doubt that La Mega will return if & when WLFM signs on their RF 20 signal.

I still haven't found an official announcement on their website or Facebook page (again, I don't understand Spanish), and I'm surprised no one has mentioned the situation on their Facebook page.

I sent an email to WOUB/WOUC, and got a super-fast reply. I was told that they're moving to DT 6 on Monday February 25th.

That's cool. I suspect that WLFM would still have to sign off before then and not on the same day that WOUC moves over to DT 6.

EDIT: https://rabbitears.info/contour.php?...a&cir=&circen=

Looks like both stations can use RF 6 if they null their signals away from each other. However, there would still be interference issues due to the sensitivity of low-VHF tropo. WLFM, still being analog, will likely create the most interference. If WLFM flash-cuts to digital and hard-nulls their signal towards the south, then they could probably stay on RF 6. Of course, doing so would defeat the whole purpose of operating as a radio station as radios will no longer receive the station anymore. The future of WLFM being a franken-FM is toast.

A Southern null... god forbid!

No point for a flash cut, what would they show, slides? & no more FM Radio, the whole point of RF6.
