If you look at our local TV broadcasters, they are much like a string of Christmas lights. Some stay lit steady, while others blink on and off in rapid fire rotation with other stations. Every day seems to bring a new problem to some of the stations.

How is it financially possible for a local independent station to obtain episodes of the Good Doctor? Someone at Armount KNBX 31.1 knows the answer.

If i recall correctly, Game of Thrones was airing on Armount soon after arriving. Which included bare breasts.

KPVT-2 and KHMP-18 continue to amaze me with their constant sub-channel changes. Oldie Goldie is today on 2.8, but the PSIP reads 702. 18.8 is blank while the PSIP is for 702. Tomorrow, who knows. Faith is on both 2.6 and 18.3, while Shop is on both 2.4 and 18.4.

Brush off your news director resumes. KTNV has released the person holding that position for only the past few months. I'm expecting Lathe Lavada will get the nod for the position, since his infomercials currently count two during the 11 am newscast.

I NEVER watch KTNV or any other local news but Channel 3 KSNV. I cant stand all the annoying newscasters on the other channels. Some seem very young with no experience or legitimacy. Esp the weather people.

Kevin Janison is the weather authority in Vegas, a cross between Mark Thompson and Carl Sagan

Also Steve Wolford who used to be on KTNV (what a stupid move by 13) is now on KSNV 3 . He does excellent reporting from the field and appears to be enjoying it.

K36NE has activated their 43.2 and 43.3 sub-channels. Looks like more pillows and Dr Ho's back belts. Last year 43.2 and 43.3 were subs for Proclaim and Three Angels Latino. 43.2 is OnTV4U, which also airs on KNBX 31.3.

Oldie Goldie on KPVT 2.8 has vanished once again. Even the PSIP, which was still ID-ing 702 TV, has been deleted.

Thirty one days hath March, which means that Quest is running out of time to transition to KINC 15.x during the first quarter of 2019 as promised. The one year anniversary of KINC offering Stadium on 15.3 is 13 March. Perhaps when that contract runs out the initial year KINC will place Quest on that sub. It's not like we'd be losing Stadium as it also airs on KSNV 3.4.

Yeah, Oldie Goldie 2.8 lost audio again before the disappearing act. Some old movies on 26.8, at times, but a lot of Info Wars.

KGNG 26 was back from lackapoweritis around 2:15 pm Saturday. Some of the other affected stations, such as KEGS-30, KNBX 31, KVPX 28, etc. were slow for their return.

This evening I noticed that some of the subs of KEGS-30 and KNBX-31 have a modest PSIP name change. Most are still color bars, however.

On this Tuesday morning, Entravision stations, KINC-15, KELV-27, and KMCC-34, are all sleeping in. The absence of Tele Antenna on KHDF 19.3 might be a situation where the lease has expired to place the sub-channel on the KHDF tranny. That programming was replaced about the first of the month with color bars.

The other day I watch a half hour of a Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin movie on KPVT 2.2. The audio level was so poor that I had to crack it up to the maximum for a faint level.

While the Pineapple Express dumps rain over the Valley, many stations are taking a hit. KPVT-2 and KHMP-18 are utter messes with pixelation today. KINC-15, KELV-27, and KMCC-34 are silent after being restored for yesterday afternoon and evening. KVPX-28, KEGS-30, and KNBX-31 are also silent.

Several days ago I mentioned that KEGS and KNBX had restated some of their PSIP ID's. Not one among you posted they had the wrong ID on the KNBX subs, instead listing them as "KBNX".

KPVM Pahrump tells me that it will be Springtime when they activate their Mt Potosi transmitter adding Las Vegas to their coverage area. That will be rf 25 and a virtual of 46. Currently they carry 7 sub-channels.

Several weeks ago one of my digital boxes bit the dust. It was an APEX 500 series. I replaced it with a new Apex DT 250, but it doesn't have the good capture qualities of the 500's. I mean the 250 can't store many stations because of a faulty design. It also has a problem with KLVD-23, as if I wanted to watch that station anyway. As I browse channels by slewing up or down, I'll hit 23 and the unit bogs down and a half minute later will revert to whatever channel I had been on previously. It simply refuses to tune to either 23.1 or 23.2, while it knows those channels are there. I'll have to wait for an Apex ATSC 3.0 tuner to make me happy.

Why don't you just get another one off ebay if they're that good, they have some brand new (& used) there:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Apex-DT502-...4383.l4275.c10

Personally, my favorite OTA box is the dtv pal+ (NOT the regular/1st gen dtv pal); it also have a very sensitive tuner, also you can do a "add scan", w/out removing any stations already in memory, as well as an event timer:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DTV-Pal-Plu...4383.l4275.c10
When I would bring it out with me when I visited Vegas, it had no trouble finding even some of the more difficult stations there, with a makeshift indoor antenna in a ground floor room.

Early this Tuesday morning I discovered that the PSIP on KINC 15.5 now reads Quest. No video from that network yet, and the audio stream remains from the former Hispanic station that has held the 15.5 sub-channel for months. Quest had been a tenant on KGNG-26 prior to losing their contract.

Quest was on KINC 15.5 at about 2:30 pm this afternoon.
