WETU-LD, yes low-power. Xmitter antenna is at 780' AMSL. Looks like the xmitter is located in the Normandale area.

Figure out your AMSL, compare with WETU's antenna height....and any ridges or whatever between you and it.

Reception of Columbus stations were coming in on the edge of the antenna at around 75 miles. I'm not sure when you were checking the 2Max out, but yesterday around 6-9pm there was some fair tropo going on regarding the Montgomery/Columbus area (and surrounding areas).

update received new clearstream2 as adviced by swamp no reflector installed same day 12-2-19
basically have this big fugly looking thing sitting ontop of TV aiming West don't see a need to aim it south/ southwest where the transmitters are.

haven't recorded much at all so I'll update again w/ more results.

note the clearstream is being spilt once for my single hauppauge and dual sillycone dust tuners.

my observations so far
strong signal strength for all channels except CW 22.1/22.2 CW is watchable, still don't understand why they duplicate CW w/ 32. 32.2 or am I missing something here.

no extra channels

pixalalation still appears but is majorly minimized and always on the silicon dust tuners my Hauppage is so far rock solid picture

I really wanted the Hauppauge Quad however it's priced the same $99. even on dark friday also cyber Monday
so I'll be waiting them out

Thanks swamp for excellent advice STB

The Clearstream 2 seems to be popular around here. The reflector is 35% off right now at Antennas Direct when you put it in your cart and does give you a few DBs of gain if you need it. It may not look good for indoor use though.

Swamp, with the repack and possibly stronger signals do you think I might have a shot at Birmingham stations if I add a second clearstream2 with combiner and aim it towards Birmingham? I messed around with aiming and was able to get channel 6 one time but that could've been under great atmospheric conditions. I would at least be able to get WBIH Selma all the way around to WIYC 45 combing the two.

My setup: Sony 65X900F w/ Sony UBP-X700, AppleTV 4k (64GB), Sony HT-Z9F soundbar w/ Sony SAZ9R rear wireless speakers. TCL 4K 43" S405 w/ Sony UBP-X800 and Sony HT-XT100 soundbar.

Glad the 2Max's are doing good for ya'll.

The reflector could help or hurt. You don't know unless you have one to test. Unless you're getting some multi-path interference coming in the back of the antenna I don't think it would really help either one of you...but, you never know. The reason I'm thinking it really doesn't make that much difference is that I don't think that either of you have an interfering channel close enough behind you to matter...but a multi-path or reflected signal *could* cause a problem.

STB, I'm not sure what to say about 32/WNCF's subchannels...I'll try to look and see what's going on.

jtrippe, I don't think you'll get dependable reception from B'ham. Distance and increasing terrain height.

channel 32.1- 32.2 are duplicated at 22.1-22.2 same program same time since 2009

I remember back in 2009 I'd have to enter 22 and TV switched itself to 32 just plain weird and seams like wasted resources. I think monkey town w/ it's population decreasing will never have more than 4 channels w/ some effort there could be 5.

can my new clearstream improve my second TV (that's located 10' away) reception even w/out a physical connection?

2nd TV use's a tiny hauppauge antenna which before the clearstream barely received a couple channels now all come in clearly.

only been 6days w/ CS hasn't rained hard yet. will heavy rain ruin reception like w/ satellite dish?

I hope ya'll faired well throug the storms last night.

Just checking in to see how the CS 2MAX is working out for ya'll. ???

STB, I'm not sure what to tell you about the 2MAX creating better reception for an unattached television...maybe some kind of parasitic reception going on? Odd, but take it as an "undocumented feature".

Rain interfere....sure. Especially if there are trees near by. Wet leaves and needles are the biggest problem, from what I understand. But, I'd say OTA reception will endure rain better than satellite reception does...this is just from my personal experience, nothing scientific.

Mine is still going pretty strong. Final test comes when WIYC goes back to full power. Probably going to add second antenna so I can cover completely from WBIH to WIYC.

WIYC is back to full power. Signal coming in great in Redland.

I’m also getting a CRTV on 15-1, SBN on 15-2, shop LC on 15-3 and EVINE on 15-4. I’ve done some research in for the life of me cannot figure out where these channels are from. Anybody know what this channel is?

That’s it! Thank you.

The Clearstream 2 Max is really doing the trick. The only low power channel I cannot get is the Daystar. Well, and WBIH 29 but that is because I’m not aiming towards it. I may throw up a cheap directional antenna to combine to get everything. I don’t really watch those channels but I like to know that I can at least get them all.
