Then KYTV has a tower crew on site to start work on facilities for KSPR-LD and KYCW-LD, but that work won't prevent KOZK from going to full power. Ah, that's good to hear. I have been struggling with KOZK, with heavy pixellation, whereas everyone else on the Fordland towers have been stable with the exception of wind and storms.
Both the Tivo and the HDHomerun Quattro tuners get really flustered at times with the heavy multipath and low signal strength. Trying to play back a recording of PBS Newshour via the HDHomerun/Emby server combo has caused the Roku to crash and reboot a few times. Good times!:-)

BTW, the engineer for KYTV also told me that the Gray Television stations (KYTV, KYCW-LD, KSPR-LD) are going to add three channels within the next two months - Circle TV, Justice and Quest. But they don't know which of the three stations are going to get which channel.

BUT first they have to complete their repack transition of KYCW-LD and KSPR-LD.

They have the equipment/transmitters delivered already, but engineers have to do the tower work. KYCW-LD is moving from 25 to 24, KSPR-LD is moving from 15 to 34. The KYCW-LD antenna will go from 222' to 1676' eventually, while the KSPR-LD antenna will go from 256' to 1676' eventually. By mid March, they will probably start running messages on KYTV 3 and KSPR 33 about the changes.

As stated some time back NextGen TV, as it's being marketed now, has been a part of the process since day one. Where applicable, the new equipment installed is compatible with NextGen, they have wisely and cost effectively used the repack to facilitate NextGen deployment.

Of note, the antenna that KSPR/KYCW will share supports 3 stations according to their 399 filing. It would seem they may be prepared to host simulcasts there? As it stands, I believe Gray hse or plans to have 9 channels total, they should have plenty of room to incorporate NextGen into the mix.

Not much NextGen news out of CES, maybe by NAB show in the spring there will be something more definitive, but for the time being, if they do get the shared antenna online by mid Feb, I'd say they are not too far behind, maybe even ahead of the curve..

I installed a Channel Master CM-3418 8-way active splitter yesterday to replace the passive 8-way. Whilst screwing around with the Tivo Roamio OTA signal strength meter today, I saw a KYTV 3.3 subchannel lit up at full strength. Looks like they're playing with their new toys:-)

It looks like a couple of DTV America stations liscensed in Joplin, KFKY and KCNH, have been granted amended CPs and interference waivers, and will be building on the tower at KOLR's Division St studios, allowing them to cover about half the area that a full power signal would. At RF25 and RF26, they will add to a very crowded slice of spectrum from 19-28, we'll see how that works out?

If a deal were in place, this might allow some flexibility for Nexstar if there were a need to offload subchannels to accommodate a simulcast on one of the Fordland transmitters.

As far as any other programming these LPs might carry, who knows

Yes, barring no weather problems, the tower crew will be on the tower on Sunday installing the antenna for KFKY and KCNH. And in a few weeks, the engineer will be installing the transmitter etc. Regarding programming, still undecided. I guess they are still waiting on a contract with a provider.

RF 19 might just be an interim solution to getting their three channels lit up - Circle, Justice, and Quest. KYCW-LD and KSPR-LD still have to move to their repack channels, but not sure when that will happen. Its possible they will do some channel juggling once those stations are complete. I know *from good authority* those two stations have had their new equipment delivered already.

They are low power digital stations, owned by HC2/DTV America. The Springfield stations aren't on this list yet but if you go to the linked page, you will see the type of programming they carry...

They evidently don't have everything set up yet, because on my HDHomerun it shows up as 8 but not like a channel 8, like its part of the KYTV channel lineup. I'm certain its got something to do with the stream that will be Quest, which will be 3-6 when they get everything straightened out. I was hoping it would have been completed today but now probably not until next week.

I just noticed KNWA signal is full strength after a few months of very poor signal. I know they have had some issues with repack, but this signal is solid!

Channel 3.4 (Circle), 3.5 (Justice) and unknown 19.1 are showing up on my TVs. All show full strength and s/n of about 35.5db. But nothing on 'em yet. I'm in Greenfield.

You always beat me to it!:-) Just noticed myself, and yes, it seems very solid. I can't rescan the HD Homerun Quattro because Emby is recording the Daytona 500, but I'll check signal quality tonight. Now, if I can suss out why I still have problems with KOZK, while the rest of the Fordland tower stations are doing great.

I believe the allocation is dynamic, I have seen times such as earlier today when KSPR was in the 7.5 range and KY3 was below 5.

Dies anyone else have trouble understanding the audio on KOLR10? They tell me it's because of their broadcasts in surround sound but all my TVs are set for surround sound and other channels broadcasting in surround sound come in just fine. KOLR10 audio always sounds muddled with a lot of background noise (or feedback) and is a weak audio signal.

KYCW has asked to extend STA to allow it to continue to broadcast on RF25 from the studio tower. I believe it was set to expire on 3/4....
