For the auction there were 4 options
-take the $$$ and go off the air
-take the $$$ and move to VHF High (if not already on VHF High)
-take the $$$ and move to VHF Low
-do nothing

So if they didnt do anything the FCC will figure out what station they can move to. Also note there are stations within the parameters (2-36) that will be moving within the band. Here is a list of alot of PBS stations and what we know

While, I can't speak for Elliott I know some years ago I believe he was looking to sell. At that time he had one station not two. The auction might have been a good chance to
keep one station, and make some well deserved money too

At the moment I'm not getting 64-4. Hopefully they are getting ready for the Charge channel on 64-5.
I'm hearing talk that Charge is coming to 12.3 at the end of the month as American Sports is shutting down.

Rabbit ears is showing (64.5 is Charge).
Channel 64-5 was added on my TiVo 2 weeks ago (still a blank channel) but the guide is showing Charge programming on 64-4 and 64-5.

Some channels that are moving. According to

https://www.nab.org/repacking/clearinghouse.asp

Wkef (22) 18 to 34.
Wrgt (45) 30 to 36.

Whio (7) 41 to 33.

Wstr (64) 33 to 18.

Wlwt (5) 35 to 20.
(I'm guessing elliot sold ch.20 since CH.5 will have their channel).

Wcpo (9) 22 to 26
Wkrc (12) staying on 12
Wxix (19) 29 to 15

Couldn't find ch. 2, 14, 16, 25, 26, 36, 43, 48, 54, on nab website.

Hers the current update from Elliot.

CH.20 will go dark while CH.25 is waiting on a channel or it won't survive.

Considering how much money the LPTV stations had to spend to upgrade to HDTV this is insane. Not good news for viewers either as it means far less choices.

When will WOTH go Off the air? I've noticed a few other stations around that have been sold at auction are shutting down quickly.

I would expect that WDTN would become the CW affiliate in Dayton because of their relationship with WBDT.

WKOI is also shutting down.

No mention of Ch. 25 on the Cincinnati repack list. Any idea if what is going on with that? Too bad we're losing Ch. 20. I really enjoy the Movie channel and also like to watch Match Game on Buzzr.

AIUI, LPTV stations weren't part of the repack. So, WBQC's fate is yet to be determined.

Walking the fine line between jaw-dropping and a plain ol' yawn.

I'm not sure but I think Elliott had on Facebook he was keeping Ch 25 and perhaps shuffling programming amongst the channel. Strange that WKOI is leaving unless they figure most watch TBN via cable or satellite.

It would be pretty cool if Elliott got a license for another LD station to replace WOTH-CD and turned that into Cincinnati's first ATSC 3.0 station.

TBN gave up the license to their station in the Indianapolis area as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they snuck back into the local Cincinnati market on an LP station or worked out a deal to share with WDYC-LD.

Seems to me there are still a few VHF channels available in Cincinnati and Dayton. A few channels in other parts of the country in the Repack list are moving from UHF to VHF.

I sent Elliot a message concerning CH.25. Here was his response.

Channel 25 probably wont get a channel. LPTV don't have any rights. Most LPTV will go away, there is a slight chance we could find a channel after the repack, we will not know till after phase 6 and that is fall 2019. By then I'll be ready to pull the plug, not worth cost, all the other stations get reimbursed we will not, cost will be over $100,000.

That's sad that we don't have room in the Cincinnati market for at least one independent LD station.

There is still room on the VHF band for a couple of channels. But based upon how i read into this it is likely that the FCC and certain corporate entities may want to phase out LPTV for some reason. Ultimately it means less people viewing OTA TV. Less choices usually results in a decline of customers in any industry.

I wonder if Cincinnati Bell would be willing to help chip in with the costs since they carry 25 on Fioptics so we dont lose 25.
