FYI: DISH is now testing a HD feed of WBND and a SD feed of WMYS. Neither are available to customers at this time.

WMYS has not yet been linked to the OTA feed, so this doesn't help the missing EPG on 69-01 (that should be fixed when the channel becomes available).

BTW: The EPG for 25-02 "THIS" being transmitted by DISH is still incorrect despite attempts to get DISH to fix it.

If you depend on commercials to wake you up as you doze off to sleep while watching TV, I suggest you buy an alarm clock. LOL!

Still no news on METV? The Launch date is in a few days so I guess South Bend isn't getting it? Wells that's not fair especially if Milwaukee gets it on their Weigel Stations!

That's assuming that 25 is used to carry another sub. Personally I hope it gets put on 57 which puts it right next door to 69. I think it makes more sense there (since MeTV is nearly cut from the same umbilical cord as MyNetworkTV) and nothing more gets taken away from 25.

5.92 Mbps free on WBND (13.21 Mbps ABC).
0.91 Mbps free on WCWW (14.03 Mbps CW/ 4.00 Mbps THIS).
15.87 Mbps free on WMYS (3.25 Mbps MyNetwork).

I wouldn't mind seeing MeTV on 57.2. I also wouldn't mind seeing MeTV on 69.2 (My and Me together) and a 24/7 news channel on 57.2. Once the news operations get up and running do a live show every few hours on ABC57/CW25 and loop it on 57.2 for people to catch any time.

I assume WBND's new newscasts would be in HD out of the gate. It wouldn't make sense at this point to setup a newscast not in HD when two of your competitors are already in HD. However this could be a problem for Fox 28 as they will be the only standard def newscast on an HD channel in the Southbend market. I think it's only a matter of time before Fox28 is forced to go HD on their newscasts as well.

It is interesting to see WSBT welcome WBND's news operations to the market in that article. It wasn't long ago that the FCC failed to approve the sale of the three LP stations to WSBT (one of the three was approved but not the other two by the contract deadline so the deal fell through). I'd rather see them remain separately owned anyways.

I'll probably have to dig deeper into the AVSForum for this, but I'm bringing this up here first because my videocard has an issue with playing back 25.2 in Mediacenter. Basically I see a lot of "staircase" lines especially when there is a lot of action in a scene. I often see video stuttering as well. I know this has nothing to do with how 25.2 is broadcast because my television, and Mediacenter extender within the Xbox 360 playback 25.2 just fine.

I ordered a Harman Kardon AVR 3600 reciever (not for this reason originally) but had found out just now that it has a feature called DCDi. The fallowing Wikipedia article explains what this feature is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DCDi

Now I'm wondering if this feature might possibly correct the strange interlacing problem that is occurring on 25.2 for me. I'll have to get back with you guys when I find out after installing the receiver. I'm pretty hopeful and will be glad if I don't need to fire up the 360 just to watch 25.2 anymore because the way my PC is handling it isn't watchable for me.

Is Me-TV on the air on 57.2? Me-TV's website says Me-Too is airing on 57.2 http://www.metvnetwork.com/wherewatc...%20-%20Elkhart . Unfortunately I am having a difficult time picking up WBND's signal. I can get everything else including WCWW and WMYS. I'll try moving the antenna again tomorrow to see if I can get WBND.

Gosh, that brings back memories! I just now realized just how screwed up that movie really was. When Mr. Wonka walks into the room I can't help but think of 1980's movie Stir Crazy.

I just scanned my television and did not find Me-Too. To me it makes a lot of sense to put it on WBND though since WCWW is already carrying This. I do wonder why those subs just didn't wind up under 69 unless that has more to do with range, then that makes sense.

WCWW is the best of the three signals (non-directional coverage) but already has a subchannel (THIS Michiana).
WBND is the second best ... with the signal reduced toward Chicago and Knox but still full power around most of the radius (and over the population center).
WMYS is the least of the three signals (coverage). Directional toward Niles-Buchanan and cutting Goshen and Plymouth out of the predicted contour.

At least on paper. I'm having more trouble getting 57 (RF 49) than any other station even though it is full power toward me and 69 (RF 23) is directed away. I'm also having problems with 46 (RF 48) so perhaps there is something interfering with the signal.

Me-Too is not there. No trace of it. Just ~5.92 Mbps waiting to be used when I double checked on Wednesday.

All this talk of the stations and possible upcoming stations has me confused at this point LOL. Based on the last few pages here in goshen I should be getting 16.1-2, 22.1-3, 25.1-2, 28.1, 34.1-2, 46.1-2, 57.1. It sounds like 69.1 won't be possible? and talks of a couple new stations if i understood it right?

I'm on the south side of Elkhart and get 69.1, so it may be possible but most of Goshen is outside the contour. RF doesn't stop at lines on a map so it is worth a try. Do you have a good outdoor antenna?

This is awesome news! Will this have any efect on any of the weekend movies that are often broadcast on 25? (Not counting the movies broadcast by the CW network.)

Possibly if they're offered in HD. It's still early, HD will increase over time as more programming is offered.

My parents can't get it either and they have an outdoor antenna. Would an amp on the line possibly help?

WMYS has not yet been linked to the OTA feed, so this doesn't help the missing EPG on 69-01 (that should be fixed when the channel becomes available).

I called DISH Tech Support to explain the 69-01 issue. You thing that 60-00 is live that 69-01 would now have a guide.

BTW: The EPG for 25-02 "THIS" being transmitted by DISH is still incorrect despite attempts to get DISH to fix it.

I'm not sure DISH can provide a guide since 25-02 does not have an OTA guide in this station.

If you hear anything, let me know.

BTW, a friend of mine said that Seinfeld was in HD on 25-01. But I watched it last night and How I Met Your Mother was in SD...

DISH does not get their guide data OTA ... they get it via Tribune Media Services. If Zap2It (and other online guides) can get the correct guide data for 25-2 then DISH can get it.

DISH even has a dedicated "channel" in their system (channel 15400) that exists to carry guide data for WCWW2. It is correctly mapped to WCWW's "TSID" (transport stream ID, which is 0x0D95) ... DISH has simply populated the guide with the wrong data. And for WMYS the correct guide data is there but DISH has failed to link it to WMYS' "TSID" (0x0d97), leaving the TSID blank in their guide data.

I'm sure DISH can provide the correct guide data ... they have simply failed to do so.

Seinfeld was not originally in HD, so I'm sure the reruns won't be either. King of Queens was HD yesterday.
