In case anyone's interested here's Antenna TV's line-up as January 2nd.

http://antennatv.tv/wp-content/uploa..._1stQ_2018.pdf

I'm disappointed but not surprised that Newhart is gone. They been running it three times a day. It looked to me like they were trying to burn off runs.

Edit: I just discovered the entire 8 seasons of Newhart are available free on youtube. (imagine me doing a happy dance) The cheapest I found the DVDs for was $62.

I wonder why WSPA is carrying Jacksonville at Tennessee while WBTV is airing Cincinnati at Baltimore?

I don't know if those decisions are made by the local stations or CBS, or what the deciding factors may be. But at least many folks with an antenna from Gastonia to Greenvillle can get both stations and have a choice. You may be able to get WSPA in parts of Mecklenburg County as well as York County areas of Fort Mill and Rock Hill in SC. And WBTV can be received in Spartanburg and parts of Greenville County. I get a good strong signal for WBTV at my house near Mauldin, as well as WSPA of course.

And speaking of WSPA, I hope they keep Channel 7 in 1080i for the CBS HD resolution after they add the CW into the feed. I think CBS looks very good in 1080i. But I wonder if the CW may change to 720p, as currently WYCW-62 carries the 1080i feed. But to save the bandwith it may be better to change CW to 720p, since the network offers both 1080 and 720 feeds to the affiliates. And I hope they keep MeTV. But those plans have apparently been pushed back to later in the springtime, so I guess they are still working out the details and making plans for WYCW to sign off.

Looks like SCETV is preparing for the shutdown of WRET-RF43, channel 49, as they are also transmitting the PSIP data for 49 on RF9. Right now I get 29, as well as 2 versions of 49, from both 43 and 9. Do we know yet when they will pull the plug? And I wonder if they will continue the dual virtual channels, or if 49 will eventually go away after a transition period.

Buzzr TV (old game shows) is coming in on Channel 28-7 and The Country Network (videos) is on Channel 28-8 in Upstate SC. I noticed it about 15 minutes ago.

It be nice if WYFF add a third Sub channel when they switch RF channel

I can't get 28 at my house, so how bad does it look with that many subchannels? I picked it up once when they had a Spanish language religious network that looked like it was being fed by a webstream.

I'm not a tech expert, but the picture seems decent on the channels. I like that 28 also has Heroes & Icons and Decades. Nice options to have if cable ever goes out.

Until today I've never attempted to get 28. They weren't running anything I wanted to see.

But I was able to get them today and Heroes and Icons and Decades looked as good as they do from WGTA in Toccoa. And the rest of the channels looked okay to me.

Has anybody used a TERK Trinity Trimodal HDTV Indoor Amplified Antenna? I've always wondered about this antenna. It's the one that looks more like a wifi router than an antenna. I saw an open box one at amazon for $8, so I ordered it just to see how it worked. It claims to have a 55+ mile range.

On RabbitEars.info I saw that WNGS-LD recently applied for a stronger signal and, it appears, to broadcast from a Paris Mountain site. It looks like it carries some Luken Communications stations as a repeater of WASV-LP from Asheville. Other than Doctor Who reruns (not a fan, but I know some are), it appears to be generally run-of-the-mill (or less) low-budget programming. One channel did carry some college football (Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, etc.) last fall.

Something on Rabbitears.info caught my eye. Maybe it was a new CP or APP. Then, I clicked on the FCC link and found something was done Jan. 8.

So, it arrived today and it's an okay antenna. But doesn't work as well the others I've been using. I only paid $8 for it, so I can't complain. I think I may set it up to get WMYA as I have to use a 2nd antenna for them because of their tower location.

That antenna is sold at Walmart, as well as a larger version that also acts as a wifi booster. It is overpriced and there probably are better choices. I always found the Terk HDTVa to be a good antenna, for both VHF and UHF with rabbit ears and the arrow shaped element, and an optional amplifier.

You're gonna be a surprised at the two antennas that work really well at my house. They're both pre-digital. I got them at Lowes. The RCA was $25 and the Recoton is so old I have no idea what I paid for it. (I've been told Radio Shack sold a clone of the RCA)
