I had this response from ME TV in regards to my e-mail complaining that ME TV is no longer available OTA for Atlanta viewers:

"For our over the air MeTV viewers: If you live within 50 miles of the downtown Atlanta area you will probably not be able to receive WGTA channel 32.1. We are working on finding an over the air station closer to Atlanta, hopefully in the near future. Please check back with us for updates. Thank you."

Personally I think 34.4 would love to have ME TV...it would probably boost their number of viewers. Or it would be a good move for WUPA to pick up ME TV on their channel 69.3 which is unused.

This Heroes and Icons thing has been going on for over 1 1/2
years.

No can't get it in Spartanburg or Greenville, SC. No antenna reception and not carried on cable.

Looks like WGTA wants to be an Atlanta market station but is still classified Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville market, as its signal only reaches northeast Georgia and Anderson, Pickens, and Occonee counties in Upstate SC. Just missing most of metro Atlanta reception area and the larger portions of Upstate SC. But apparently carried on cable in Atlanta.

MeTV is also carried OTA on WSPA 7.2 so there is a wide coverage area with a small area of duplication from WGTA.

WGTA has a small coverage area that comes nowhere near to covering Atlanta. Appears to be a marketing ploy by ME TV to get their network on the cable systems in Atlanta.

MarkB49 is me since Dec. 2002.

32.1 is PRISM here.
I Scanned 103 channels 3 weeks ago 9.1--12.1--32.1 all PRISM. How do they get away with
ALL these channels Beaming basically the same channels all over the place.Nearly 40 i scanned were there's!

Tyler this is the same as when H&I was suppose to be here.
NEVER happened.
They weren't on cable then,a year and a half ago.

Also sent email to wsb.

Well, at least they are acknowledging that the OTA viewers are now in the dark in Atlanta. I'll have to pin my hopes on a clean swap with WUVG's 34.4. It sure does seem like the viewership has to be higher for MeTV than Escape.

I have to laugh now and then when it dawns on me I am watching such low resolution 480i material on a UHD (2160p) capable display. But then again, I remind myself that I am simply experiencing the content in the way that it was originally presented on analog TV, back in the day, lol! Heck, I need to get me an old CRT TV from a pawn shop and REALLY experience the old shows in an artistically authentic manner.

Don't forget you will probably need a digital converter to convert the digital signal to analog for the CRT TV.

Personally, I find many of the old TV programs to have better video quality on SD digital than they ever did on analog TV.

WSB
Sent me the WGTA phone number. 706 297 2954

The last email wsb sent was rather long. Basically outlining ALL the stations we still have.
and how great ESCAPE is.
I recorded METV sat.night scifi for about 11 hours. That was it.
Roku3 is still working fine after 2 years. Slingtv or Playstation Vue is what i watch.

Can't verify this, but I read in another forum that Escape will only be on WSB 2.2 for a short time. Bounce (which is currently on 36.2) is supposed to be moving to 2.2 in July.

For sure ME TV has higher ratings than Escape, if it was just ratings they never would of dropped them

I noticed that Channel 8 (WGTV) was "off the air" yesterday...at least that's what I thought until I did some probing and discovered they had simply changed their PSIP to WJSP, channel 28. So the four PBS channels are 28.1-28.4 Seems like a technical glitch, otherwise they would have had a banner for weeks on Channel 8 warning viewers to re-scan for channels.

Light TV sounds like another junk channel that should be on WANN. Religious programs except for Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, Pink Panther, Highway To Heaven and Heartland. I'm shocked WAGA and WSB don't do better research and select more POPULAR sub channels.

Me-TV replied to my complaint about loosing WSB. They said they are looking to get another affiliate in Atlanta. Maybe when WPCH sells perhaps they will finally get a sub or two.

This is a long shot, but must be considered. WPCH-17 is carried in Canada on ExpressVu, as it's a hold over from the days when ExpressVu aired TBS. The contract to carry TBS was written so than WPCH simply took its' place when TBS no longer claimed to be 'The Superstation'. If WPCH affiliates with METV and places that service on the main dot one channel, then METV could have access to all of Canada. WPCH would then move their current main dot one programming to a sub-channel for domestic Atlanta distribution. METV would love to have access to the Canadian viewers, as currently they can not affiliate with Canadian stations. Contracts for airing current programming of METV within Canada would have to be resolved.

Will the last subscriber leaving Dish Network please turn off the satellite.

FOX signed an agreement to carry LightTV on their O&O (owned and operated) stations

Well its' still a junk channel. We've got about 15 religious channels in ATL already we sure don't need another. Good luck FOX with that idea.

I noticed that FOX in major cities has Heroes and Icons as their 3rd sub.
CBS has a few of them too.

Because of the heavy off-network programming carried (and planned) on Light TV, it can't be considered just another religious channel.

If they only have 4 shows that are not religious, they are religious. Even 57.2 has more regular programs than that.

Atlanta, GA - OTA

Since Comet seems to have disappeared, they now have a free Roku channel that looks better than ota did for me. GPB also has an app now.

WSB has good live stream news app for Channel 2 Action News. On Roku, Amazon Fire, and certain smart TVs such as Samsung. I watch coverage this morning of I-85 bridge collapse.

The problem with channels that have streaming apps is that you can't record them. I used to record quite a few shows from MeTV that were shown in the early hours such as 77 Sunset Strip at 4 AM.

Looks like the FCC TV spectrum auction is complete and there will be some channel changes coming to the Atlanta market (see chart). All of these stations (except WGTV) are in phase 5 of the reassignment and can start testing on their new channels on 03AUG2019 and complete the channel change by 06SEP2019 so it's still over two years away. WGTV is in phase 10 which should be complete by 03JUL2020.

I wonder why WGTV is moving from 8 to 7 ? For that matter why is any channel moving if they are currently on ch 35 or below. I thought the reason for chs to move was to make room at the upper end of the spectrum for cell phone expansion.

WGTV is moving from 8 to 7 because WNTV in Greenville SC is moving from 9 to 8. It's part of a big cascading effect caused by a station moving to high-VHF in Orlando, FL.

You are probably just in the "in between zone" of the transmitters. WGTV 8 is from Stone Mountain and WJSP 28 (physical channel 23) is out of Warm Springs. W13DJ-D (physical channel 13) is a transmitter for WJSP out of Oak Mountain in Carrollton and is virtual Channel 28. I get all 3 just barely and have to work to get any of them to come in clear. There is also WNGH channel 18 (physical channel 33) out of Young Harris to the North That will occasionally come in.

All of these air the exact same programming (along with all of the other Georgia Public Broadcasting channels) which is

X.1-PBS
X.2-Create
X.3-PBS World/GPTV Knowledge
X.4-PBS Kids

As opposed to WPBA 30 (physical channel el 21) which airs alternate PBS programming from the Atlanta Public school system and WCIQ channel 7 out of Mt. Cheaha which airs different PBS programming from Alabama Public television.

It seems the one I installed is for Florida (Suncoast) Having trouble finding the Ga one on Amazon Fire
Also, have been using indoor antenna Terk HDTVa . Lately I ?have not been getting NBC WXIA 10(11.1) . Is it because they still use VHF. I'm in a 4th fl apt on Hammond Drive not far from the Dunwoody MARTA , unfortunately my windows face internal courtyard but I still normally can scan 70 or so channels. I was thinking of trying another antenna. Can't do outside

I guess the reason why all the networks come in great except for NBC is because they are owned by Comcast and they gain by people struggling with OTA
