Does anyone know what's happening with Channel 35.1? It's been broadcasting a test signal for weeks. It did this before but not nearly as long. I tried contacting HC2 a few times via phone and email with no answer. I miss the Buzzr channel.

WCTZ-LD 35 filed a Request for Silence STA on February 12th and was granted on the 17th. The STA is good through August 17, 2020. The Silence STA application says they went off the air on the 5th...

BTW, HC2/DTV America has so many broadcast properties all around the country that it would be surprising to hear from them.

You can live stream the Buzzr channel with the apps/websites from both Pluto TV and STIRR.

WCTZ 35 is back on the air. BUZZR, Quest and the others returned on Friday afternoon. I'm assuming they got their problems fixed. They have an excellent signal here in Gallatin.

35 is working perfectly here in Hermitage, too. My latest scan shows 83 channels!

I rescanned and am getting 35 but with some pixelation. My problem is when it comes up in the guide it is showing WKMA 35 (Kentucky PBS), but still showing WCTZ programming. Has WKMA made their swap yet?

What specifically did you purchase? What should one expect this to look like?

Something like this?: https://palomar-engineers.com/wp-con...222_124620.jpg

Or, something like this?: https://groups.io/g/wvdxc/attachment/838/0

I did a google search of ferrite and coaxial cable, but didn't get a lot of useful images to come up.

I recently noticed the program schedule and guide info on my smart TV as returned after the re-pack on all the local channels except channels 6 & 35. This is certainly a plus with viewing local channels.

Quick Note: WZTV Fox 17 and WNAB CW 58 may have finally powered up! That's what I see. Does anyone else see it?

Looking Good!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm seeing the same down here at the Southern part of the state. I'm glad to see them back up to full power. After the repack, the only station I could receive consistently was 30. 2 is spotty much of the time, and I barely get 5 unless we get tropospheric ducting.

44 on RF 25

I seem to be picking up channel 44 on RF 25 a lot better than usual tonight. I didn't realize how sharp MeTV was on that station. I'm just glancing at Hogan's Heroes and noticing the facial details of the actors, the film grain, and the film imperfections. It's a world of difference compared to the softer, compressed picture that my local affiliate station puts out.

Is this thread still alive?

Tonight my channels are screwed up. Had mytv30 perfect signal never a glitch for months About an hour ago lost signal amd did a rescan. Have 71 channels now (hohenwald) which i have never seen. Including a channel 54.3 which is MEtv which i never had. Also 39 which i never saw and some bowling green channels. However mytv30 & fox17 are gone. Is this atmospherics? Is something happening im not aware of? Fcc repack stuff? Or just new channels blocking out my normal signals??

Is it just me or is OTA screwy tonight?

Yeah, I am in the same boat. WKUW 40 has been rock solid, but two times tonight, it has completely went out. Also, for a little time WTVF (RF 36) even went out. I live east of Nashville. Until I saw your post, I thought something was wrong with my setup, but now, I think it just maybe co-channel interference and/or atmospheric conditions.

Fox 17 ATSC 3.0 on June 23

I just saw a banner going across the top of Fox 17 stating that they would be going to ATSC 3.0 on June 23. It advised everyone to rescan their TVs on that day to continue receiving Fox 17.

https://fox17.com/news/local/do-you-...-after-june-23

By the way the above article describes the situation, it seems like 17 will be a sub-channel of 30.1. I hope they don't obliterate both 17 and 30 as well as their sub-channels to the point they're unwatchable. 17 has only two watchable channels imo: Antenna TV and Fox. To be honest, they could do away with TBD. It's basically YouTube content on a channel. Plus, it's free to stream online. It wouldn't break my heart if they had to dump that one to keep from over-compressing the other channels.

The rules state that all the existing programming has to be carried on ATSC 1.0 simulcasts for 5 years. They haven't made any FCC filings yet, but if it's like what other markets did, they'll be partnering with multiple stations and spread their subchannels out, and in turn those stations will get ATSC 3.0 simulcasts on Fox 17's signal.

I hadn't seen this mentioned here, but the WNPT frequency change looks to be happening July 3rd, initially with only low power: https://www.wnpt.org/rescan/

I just found out that WUXP will become a ATSC 3.0 station, and that WZTV will stay a 1.0 station. They will broadcast each other. WZTV will broadcast WUXP's 1.0 stations while WUXP will broadcast WZTV's 3.0 station. I found out through the FCC website.

Thanks

Thank you for providing us with that information. Do you know if they'll continue to carry 30's sub-channels on 17 once they shutdown the RF 30 1.0 signal? If they decided to drop Comet, then that wouldn't be a big deal due to that being freely available online for streaming. 17 and 30 both have 3 channels, so expanding 17 to 6 channels would be a drastic reduction in quality.

Yes, they're required to have ATSC 1.0 simulcasts for 5 years so no one loses existing programming. The Multicast exhibit inside their filing says all of 30's subs will be on WZTV's RF 20 signal:
