I'd wait until they are up and running on their new antenna. Because it is a high VHS channel (11), your antenna may pick it up. If you still can't get them after they've moved to the new antenna, then you'll have to add a VHF antenna and add it to your antenna cable feed.

Just to be sure, you did do a rescan of the channels?

Sorry. I should have stated I have done many rescans. Have also tried something to the effect ' this is the wrong list, choose new channels'.

Didn't think it was the answer, but went up on the roof yesterday and tried re-alignment of the antenna. No joy.
Thank you for your response! It is much appreciated!!

The gin pole is down, so they are done installing the antenna. What would be next is to install the coax. Hopefully they have already started that. I'm guessing that it shouldn't be too long before they are done.

Yup, they have to take down WMSN's waveguide and WISC's 6" coax and put up our new 6" coax and WISC's new 3" coax. Weather is not cooperating.

What would typically come next after that?
Sunny but frigid weather coming over the next few days. The tower crews can work in that, I would think.

Coax has to be connected to the transmitter and get tuned. The VSWR has to be brought down to as low as possible.

But, not in the rain and/or snow. Just not the best time of the year. That said, better than it will be in Jan/Feb.

I'm sure you folks are well aware of this, but I always love to learn new things so I searched on gin pole and found an interesting video showing a crew lifting one up a tower.

Not if all this rainy snowy mix coats the tower, then freezes solid with the cold snap coming up. Then when it does warm up, it melts and flies off in chunks...

Ya, just ask WKOW about when the ice came down and cut thru their waveguide many, many, moons ago.

You do understand that the stations involved with the upgrade are at the mercy of the weather and the installers. Plus, with the holidays the next couple of weeks, there will be many days where work isn't being done.

Now I hear WISC is running screen scrolling during NFL playoffs telling viewers to call AT&T Uverse because they may lose their signal. I don’t remember them being so concerned about losing over the air viewers over their frequency / antenna dysfunction. It’s all about the money, isn’t it?

I saw that too.
Wish I could bill WISC for my monthly YoutubeTV sub I bought so I don't miss my CBS sports and shows.

Yeah, not many OTA viewers, so very low priority.

Wish I could drop the $13.50 charge that the "free" OTA stations mandate I pay on my cable bill. At this point, they should just drop their license and call themselves cable channels.

This is completely unrelated... it's about a re-transmission agreement with only ATT U-Verse, but the TV infrastructure can't just target each provider individually so it goes out to all viewers.

The frequency change aka "repack" is completely different.

I don’t see it as being unrelated at all.
The bottom line is ‘even more people are losing’ their Madison CBS viewing options.
WISC seems incapable of coordinating an antenna update or negotiating with U-verse for the good of their viewers.

Mattymo can clarify this, but WISC doesn't have ultimate control of tower work. The owners of the tower do.

correct, we (WMSN) are tenants on the tower too, and the owner of the tower has hired the general tower contractor to do all of the work for all of the tenants involved. The University Research Park was on the ball before the repack channel assignments were even given out to prepare for this back in 2017. WISC has done way more than you realize to work within the scope of this project, there's really no one entity to blame more so than the crappy weather in November for this project not being done.

And in addition to Mattymo's comment, WISC itself has nothing to do with contract negotiations. They are owned by a larger group of stations who deal with them on a group level. WISC is one of several stations that could be affected by the negotiations if they fall through. They are not in charge of their carriage destiny on pay TV systems.

And if you want to know why you need pristine weather for something like this, check out the successful WMBD-TV antenna swap in Peoria.

https://www.centralillinoisproud.com...-antenna-swap/

Blame the FCC for the accelerated schedule, and trying to do this during the winter months.

No. Only for the change in frequency. ATSC3.0 does not require any antenna changes. Transmitter work yes.
