Ouch, ouch, and ouch. Edit: But it looks like it's not as bad as feared. Yay!

WZCK-LD, virtual channel 8
Currently on UHF 36 and I believe has been assigned UHF 24.

WMWD-LD, virtual channel 38
Was on UHF 38 and apparently not broadcasting at this time. I believe has been assigned UHF 15.
It appears WZCK-LD is in the process of moving to UHF 24. They were on the air last night on that frequency but now they aren't on the air at all. Maybe they're testing?

Edit: FCC docs seem to indicate they need approval before going back on, but I'm not an expert understanding the docs. It looks like they're staying at their current transmitter location on Tokay.

Thanks mattymo,
I’ve always had a lock on their signal but to pixelated to watch.
My signal is a little clearer today but still pixelated with no sound.
I guess I’m not one of the lucky ones.
Thanks again for the updates, much appreciated.

WISC is transmitting from their new/top antenna now, but i think it's the same power as their aux/side mount antenna. WISC has to wait until WLUK in Green bay moves from channel 11 to channel 12 in phase 9 (which ends on 5/1) before they can apply for "maximization" which will greatly increase their power... however, phase 9 might be delayed due to COVID 19 Edit: I just looked up in the FCC database that WLUK was granted an STA to move to phase 10.

That’s good news they’re on the new antenna!
I guess it wasn’t damaged too badly like 1st reported?
At least things are going in the right direction finally.
I called my sister and told her to check WISC and she gets it now. At least there’s one happy person in the family.

Antennaweb.org has the wluk repack at phase 10 with a completion date of 7/3/2020.
I see where WISC will be going from 10.2 to 46.9 kW. That should boom their signal in here!
Someday soon, hopefully

Covid-19 certainly is screwing up everything.

No luck in Baraboo

Still no joy here.
Might try climbing up on the roof tomorrow to see if I can get it in by rotating my antenna.

You'll probably have to wait until Ch 3 can go full power.

I got this request in an email from the wisc engineering department.

“If you still find that you cannot receive WISC-TV after doing a rescan on your TV set, please fill out and submit our Viewer Response Form which can be found by following the link below.”

https://www.channel3000.com/tower-report/\

I guess it lets their engineers know how far their signal is reaching and can maybe complain to a deaf FCC about the power restrictions?

I found this the other day and those waiting for WISC to gain some strength will find it of interest.

The Parties hereby acknowledge that while TV Wisconsin has a pending modification of
the WISC Permit to increase its ERP from 10.2 to 46.9 kW, WLUK Licensee does not agree to accept
any interference in excess of the 3.77% noted in Paragraph 3 above. WLUK Licensee will accept the
interference from the WISC Permit to the WLUK-TV Pre-Repack Facility and that TV Wisconsin
will accept the interference from the WLUK-TV Pre-Repack Facility to the WISC Permit, as
described in paragraph 3 hereof. WLUK Licensee also agrees to accept the interference resulting
from ancillary short-term WISC-TV channel 11 operations (e.g., side-mount operations authorized
via Special Temporary Authority while the WISC Permit facilities are being installed prior to the
filing of a License to Cover for the WISC Permit) provided that such interference does not exceed
3.77% of the population of the WLUK-TV Channel 11 licensed facility. WLUK Licensee will notify
TV Wisconsin when WLUK Licensee implements its WLUK-TV operations on channel 12, pursuant
to an FCC authorization. Once notified, TV Wisconsin at that point may implement the parameters
for the permit to increase power to 46.9 kW ERP for WISC-TV.

Sadly it might be even longer if Covid-19 slows the WLUK repack. They’ve already gone from phase 9 to 10.

I’m wondering why wluk didn’t just stay on vhf 11 and wisc move to vhf 12. I haven’t checked but there’s probably someone else on 12 near the Madison market.

Well well well. Heavily pixelated channel 3 here in Muscoda at 6am. Now at 6:30 it’s actually watchable.

Angry A Nightmare.....to be continued...apparently.

I do antenna installations in the south-central Wisconsin area and have had to deal with this repack mess since October. In my area, the antennas get hit with channel 11 from WISC from the south and from WLUK from the northeast... The co-channel interference is horrible, and pretty much killed the NFL games last fall from WLUK. Add to the mess created when WMSN 47 stayed on their temporary antenna until the end of April. Another mess that's occurring is WIFS (57- Madison) is now on channel 21, and so is WCWF (14 - Green Bay). The boneheads at the FCC should have their heads examined.....

This should all be resolved when phase 10 of the repack is done. WLUK moves to 12 and WCWF moves to 15. WISC was originally in phase 9, but due to sharing a tower with other stations in Madison and to get that work done in time for phase 6, they applied and were granted to move to phase 6 with an interference agreement with WLUK for the time between phase 6 and 9. Covid-19 pushed WLUK back to phase 10... and now here we are. After repack is done, WISC will be able to apply for maximization and hopefully they'll be able to greatly increase their power.

Don't forget WISC was paid $48,929,182 as compensation for moving UHF to VHF in the spectrum auction. There was a reason that stations were compensated for moving from UHF to VHF.
