Anyway, does anybody know a good place to purchase D* and get really good installation? I am definitely willing to pay some money in order to get a good installation because I don't want any issues. OK, long introduction, sorry.
I got my DirectTv system from Sound Advice
a couple weeks ago. The guys who do the installs works DIRECTLY for them and does an excellent job. He spent 7 hours here getting everything done perfectly and it didn't cost me a dime. (Except a tip I gave him for doing such a good job.) Also, since the installers work for Sound Advice, they guarantee and warranty the install........you won't get that anywhere else. They also have the same deals on free receivers, free triple lnb dishes, and same prices on DTivo's as everybody else.
If you get your system anywhere else, even from DirectTV, you will get an independent contractor who works for themselve, so you're hit or miss on whether or not you get a good install or a crappy one. So I give Sound Advice 5 stars if you want the best install done right. As for the cable internet connection
........you don't need cable to get it. I still have cable internet. In fact, if you sign up for a new account with earthlink cable internet, you get the first 6 months for only $29.99 and them it's $41.99 after that. With my cable company I was being charged $44.95 per month. they're number is 800-327-8454. Even if you live in an area of town that can't get Earthlink Cable............you can still get cable internet from Adelphia without having to get their TV service.
PS.....the picture and sound quality on DirectTv blows away what I had with digital cable from BrightHouse. There's also been quite a few heavy thunderstorms since I had it and I haven't had any rain fade.
