No it wont work....I had the same antenna and switched. My signal meter on the TV was 2-3 signal bars on UHF, now a solid 5 on lo-VHF.

I am surprised that WJAC or no other station ever did CW+ before.

My family and others who live in the City of JTown and can only receive WJAC, feel like they got a brand new station even though it's a subchannel.

I don't know anyone personally who was wild about TBD but that's available online anyway. So is Comet but doubt WJAC would dump that as that's probably their top channel. I actually thought our market would have gotten Charge! not TBD.

For whatever reason Sinclair seems to prioritize TBD over Charge when making affiliation deals, even NYC, Houston and San Francisco don't have local Charge affiliates.

My WPSU signal has taken a hit recently. I emailed support to see if they had an update on when they thought they might be at full power as that previous article about the philanthropist who donated indicated they were not.

Don't know what is going on but I am now pulling in a weak signal from WPSU...I am temped to put up the 8bay again to see if it bumps the signal.

I have not received a response to my email request from last week.

On a surprising note, depending on atmospheric conditions my CM 4228HD has been picking up WKBS RF 6.

WPCW Gone

Wow, guess no more WPCW for ABB Customers.

I went to ABB's website to check something with my bill and seen this:

"Effective November 12, 2019, WPCW (CW) will be replaced by WJAC (CW). It will be available on Limited Ch. 15 and Ch. 715 in HD."

Sinclair really moves in fast with cable carriage.

I noticed Nexstar on the other hand doesn't even seem to care to get cable carriage for their subchannels as I never was able to see Escape, Laff, or GRIT ever added to ABB or even Comcast.

Unless it's something major like a Big 6 network, usually newly added subchannels have to wait until the main station's contract is up for renewal. Nexstar's contract with Comcast is up in December:

Yes that I know.

I believe WTAJ added subchannels about a year before their ABB contract needed renewed.

They didn't have ABB add a single subchannel, only carry their main channel.

We're having some technical issues with the WPSU Clearfield transmitter that have caused a temporary reduction in power. Hopefully things will be resolved soon and we'll see a return to where it had been up until recently. A new transmitter, while planned for, will likely not be in place for several more months.

That's good news...channel 6 CW has a better schedule than WPCW

Good news! Hopefully the new transmitter will have a stronger signal.

Hello J Hughes,

Thanks for the update. Is the Pine Grove Mills transmitter operating at full power and are there any pending changes to that one?

Pine Grove is currently operating at our intended power level, which is near to full power. Clearfield has been as low as 70% power as we're addressing some technical problems this week. We hope to have it return to 85% power ASAP. This is our intended power for this specific (aging) transmitter, and where we've been running it for several years.

Any potential changes to the Pine Grove transmitter will be determined as part of the overall plan when the Clearfield transmitter is replaced over the next year or so. WPSU operates using a unique single frequency distributed transmission system that broadcasts on the same channel with more than one transmitter. There are advantages and disadvantages to this approach. It was cutting edge technology when it was deployed in the early 2000s. It may or may not be replicated in the next generation of ATSC 3.0 transmission for WPSU.

Thanks for not one, but two updates there! We also pick up WVIA but prefer the programming on WPSU (Weather World, showings of ACL, etc). Sometimes the signal is right on the edge of being received. We pick up the Pine Grove Mills transmitter and it's on average 10 points less than our next weakest signal (WJAC RF 26).

Update for probably no one but just in case:

I gave up on trying to receive FOX 56 RF 22. Despite the notch filter installed on the other line the signals are too strong coming off the back that WJAC RF 22 (Altoona) still mostly interferes with the signal.

I also re-aimed channel master cm4228HD to pick up WQMY 53 in Williamsport and that signal is coming in well. WNEP RF 50 is strong enough it's still being picked up. Also picks up the two VHF stations as well.

So if anyone would like an RF 22 notch filter for blocking the signal from either WOLF Fox 56 RF 22 or WJAC 6 RF 22 I'll resell it.

Anybody know if WJAC's On-Air EPG/Guide is down?

Not sure if it's just my DVR or not, but all the sudden I have no guide data at all from WJAC.

It was never the greatest data and for some reason it seemed the descriptions often went to the wrong programs but it was mostly usable.

Gone. Seems to me stations that identify with call letters instead of network affiliations have info.

I cannot get rf-26. If you go to Wjac website, they have pic's and story related to this.

I see, thank you. An estimated having service restored by date would be a nice addition to their site. I'm far enough away that was the only WJAC signal I receive. I did receive RF 22 until Fox 56 of Scranton also switched to RF 22.
