When I moved to the Meridianville area, I aimed my CM4228 almost due west (maybe slightly south of west), and picked up the reflections from WAAF, WHNT, and WZDX off the hills. That also enabled me to pick up WHDF as well.

FWIW, I work for WHDF, so I did all of that for a test.
As the crow flies I am inside of 2 miles from 19,31 and 25.

Yeah, you're really close. When you get the antenna, I'd suggest trying multiple angles. Even going nearly 180-degrees away from the transmitters might give you better signal (due to reflection). Multipath can cause issues with that, so it'll come down to trial and error.

I have friends that live in Hampton Cove, and they can't get WZDX nor WAAY, due to how close they are and the elevation. Obviously, they can't get us either (damn mountain). LOL.

Those two are 84 degrees apart. If the new antenna doesn't get you both, there are other ways to solve the problem, but they are more involved. I suggested the easy way to try first.

Antenna is sitting on the floor upstairs. I am picking up 15, 19, 25, 31, 48, and 54. (31 channels total)

All clear. I am blown away. Antenna is small installation will be a piece of cake

For my own knowledge, which antenna did you order, the C2V or the CS2MAX?

I have now Cut the Cord. I was an 8 year subscriber to Directv. Over the last 8 months the picture quality had deminished significantly and the customer service became non existent.

I am now running Apple TV with several apps including PlayStation Vue for my cable channels and the antenna.

Everything is month to month, cloud based DVR, fantastic picture for local channels...

Thrilled.

Laff is now on 48.4. Apparently they started broadcasting on there as of last Monday. I didn't notice it until I saw it added to TitanTV's listings tonight and rescanned my TV to confirm. Just a warning that the channel is highly compressed. Even so, it beats the spotty reception I get from the Nashville Laff affiliate.

The FCC's website shows that the beginning of phase 2 of the repack started about 10 days ago. Does anyone know when WHDF will be making their transition to VHF Low? I thought I recalled someone from that station commenting here previously. I'm afraid that their OTA viewer count will plummet once they switch over. Most people seem to have small antennas with little to no VHF gain on them.

I still work for WHDF. I'm not sure if we got an extension, because the station was recently sold to Nexstar (whom also owns WZDX). I'll try and find out tomorrow.

Taz, do you happen to know if WHDF will be moving their signal to a subchannel of WZDX? Where I live, WHDF is the only network station that we can't pick up with an indoor antenna, due to a hill and trees blocking line of sight.

According to the repack info from the FCC, they're moving to VHF-Low band channel 2 (around the 54-60MHz frequency range). The timeline for completion is around April of next year. I've actually heard that there's a lot of noise in today's environment that would hamper reception of signals in that particular frequency range. There was one guy online who published his account of having 0 reception on channel 2 in his viewing area because there was some kind of filter on his power line that needed changing. The filter was bad and creating so much noise on the frequency that it prevented him from receiving it. From my understanding, things such as blenders, vacuums, and other household items that run motors can disrupt frequencies that low. Relocating to the lower end of VHF may have made sense money-wise for the owners, but I think it'll be a different story for OTA viewers once they're up and running on 2.

Any update on this? Are you guys waiting until the deadline to make the switch or are you going to be moving early?

I've heard that Escape is gone from 54-4 and that channel is now 15-1 mirroring WHDF. Anyone seeing this? Is it in HD or SD?

Trip: 54-4 is still on as Escape, and 15-1 is coming up as WHDF at my location. I know for a fact that WZDX is broadcasting this signal from their tower on Monte Sano, as I have never been able to pick up WHDF's primary signal on 15-1 here from their antenna in Tennessee. And yes, it's broadcasting in 1080i.

Interesting. I would have assumed it was due to the upcoming repack work and move to low-VHF.

https://www.fcc.gov/about-fcc/fcc-in...ition-schedule According to this website's schedule, we're a little more than a month away from the end of phase 2. With phase 2 completion, WAAY (ABC) will be moving to RF 17 and WHDF (CW) will be moving to RF 2. It should be interesting to see how things go as that date draws closer. I'm guessing WAAY will start addressing the issue with people on their daily newscasts about rescanning their TVs and tuners when the day approaches.

We had to move the antenna lower on the tower, while the new is being put up.

I'll find out tomorrow if we plan to put WHDF on a subchannel of WZDX.

PSA on Channel 15

The commercial break of last night's episodes of Family Guy included a PSA about OTA viewers needing to rescan their TVs on April 12.
