I can not ignore posts that incorrectly state WFOR staff has made mistakes with High Definition Broadcasts.
Point of fact:
WFOR-DT was not off the air due to a mistake on Wednesday May 23.
That was a scheduled event. It is difficult to replace a transmission line connector with 12,000 Watts on it. Turning the transmitter off made the job much easier.
On Monday, May 21, WFOR did NOT upconvert network program material during prime time. (I checked the log to verify this)
It is NOT POSSIBLE for WFOR to air 480 I. Period.
---LOW POWER Let's address the issue.
WFOR-DT is not a Low power station
LP stations are limited to a transmitter output power of between 100 and 1000 watts.
WFOR-DT has an effective radiated power of 71,000 watts!
Will our power increase to 1MegWatt in September?YES. Are we _lower_ than that now? Yes.
Dennis, your home is outside of the Miami designated market area (DMA)
Viewers beyond the DMA are welcome to watch WFOR-DT programming.
However, there are legal issues tied to assisting viewers outside of the DMA.
How many other stations have representatives on this forum?
Have you followed some of the advice I have given you in the past?
You indicate that your signal readings fluctuate.
Do you really believe WFOR-DT's output power is constantly changing?
I can not see your set up, but here are some guesses on my part:
You are using a less than ideal antenna system.
There is something obstructing your signal path.
One of your receivers is radiating spurious signals.
At least one of your receivers has a sensitivity problem.
