If that is the case, it is poorly executed....

Thanks, I had missed that article.

I e-mailed them as well this morning and attached the graphic. I thought maybe one of their people was screwing around without management's knowledge, but obviously not. I've made fun of the "10 on your side" slogan for awhile. What if a murderer is watching, are they on his side?? lol But come on, I've never seen such juvenile advertising from the local media. I'll never take WTKR seriously again.

And BTW, I posted it in here for maximum exposure since this is coming across their OTA channel...

And lastly, they need a new graphic artist. The guy that did that graphic is really really bad at it.

Another Pilot story on this topic. WTKR was recently sold by the NY Times (finally! ). The new News Director is shaking things up trying to get the station out of the cellar.

Here is the best place to see both stories (www.vartv.com) (25 OCT 07). Bob, I hope you don't mind me posting your website as this place.

That article doesn't really address the split-second ads we're talking about, though. That ad I've seen and it's not so bad. These are just unprofessional IMO.

Wow, I actually got a response from WTKR:

Quote:

Todd,

Thanks for your e-mail. No vendetta here. We're just having a little fun.

Shane Moreland
News Director
WTKR, Newschannel 3

Sorry, but it's still a pathetic ad campaign.

I watched Smallville (WGNT-DT) OTA last night from start to finish and I had zero audio/video problems. Must have been any antenna related problem...

I checked with our control room operator who was on duty last night. He did not have any problems with either the SD or HD signals.

He did not get any calls, and your post was the only indication we have seen that anything was wrong.

I just watched my recording. I had some break ups. Assuming the weather was as yucky here as it was in Blacksburg, that would explain my glitches.

I'm hoping it was just the weather, i have an indoor antenna so i dont know if the weather could have affected it that much. I've never had any problems before.

Just lost the HD feed on 43-1 (World Series) for about five minutes or so, no signal at all. Just got a picture back but it's SD.

43-1 was not just an OTA issue, they lost the picture on both HD and SD stations for a bit on Fios, back to normal now.

ahhh... this is real annoying on my OTA only tv. no picture issues on the other 2 tvs i have that have D*

iii i don't know it could be jets @ oceana but i had no issues during week 1 and the air show, or was that a nor easter, the only issues i had during week 1 was cbs broadcast issues, which was also visible on the Red Zone ch.

i'm thinking its some kind of weather issue at my house. i dont know and i'm out of ideas...

at least the rest of the night i will be watching FOX on the OTA tv so hopefully no more issues. ...

Thankfully 13-1 has been perfect all afternoon so far. 43-1 has occasional hiccups for me. 10-1 was having occasional hiccups as well this morning. I think that has to do with the wind, which is probably blowing the trees around in the direction of the towers.

Is this statement true or false? -

The more extraneous garbage we have posted on this thread, the less participation we'll have of the station chiefs.

Just want to know if I'm making a mountain out of a molehill.

So what was the deal with the World Series last night? The picture quality was awful. The graininess was ridiculous. AFAIK, this was a FOX problem, not a local issue. The Redskins game looked real good (picture quality-wise that is... ). Les, any thoughts on what was going on? I know the other WS games looked bad too, but I thought last night was the worst.

IMO last night looked good but i guess it was some sports picture setting that my friend had on his tv that i hooked up OTA ONLY. i saw some grain on my tv also OTA via D*hr20 but IMO it was looking a little better than usual last night.

than again that is just my opinion.
