WBTV does not provide program info for their subchannels OTA, but it is provided on Tivo by Tribune Media. But here, WYFF-4 does provide program info OTA for This TV on 4.2. So WBTV should add the info. They did for a brief period before Bounce appeared.

I guess the Engineer may had delay it and they may had keep it on SBN

As expected, I had the same experience as you did when I disconnected my TiVo and plugged the coax directly into the back of my TV. See attached picture. But as posted by Tyler today, I understand WBTV is currently not providing program descriptions on either one of their subchannels. I am not sure why that is the case.

But the individual titles and descriptions are available on other stations which carry THIS TV. For example, all the the PSIP guide data is available on WXII 12.2. I was able to easily access this information on WXII 12.2 THIS TV while I had my TiVo unplugged (just using the antenna).

With the TiVo plugged back in, I get all of my information through Tribune Media (the source TiVo uses). And when viewing this information on the TiVo, I can see all channels, to include individual titles and descriptions on WBTV 3.3. See second picture for TiVo guide.

Thanks for that info. Makes me wonder, since TiVo has full program descriptions for ThisTV, why doesn't TVGOS (which my CM-7000PAL DVR receives). TVGOS is a nation-wide service transmitted OTA locally by WTVI and it has full program descriptions for the other Charlotte stations (including WBTV 3.1). Hopefully, the info for ThisTV will be added one of these days.

You got me on that one. You would think TVGOS would be transmitting the same info as Tribune Media.

I may have missed an earlier mention of this. Time Warner Cable program source shows Tribune Media (the source

WJZY 46-3 is now showing The Country Network. For now, it is still named "Test" with no program titles.

It may take them little while to get the channel id corrected and get the program data information on the guide. I remember when the wspa 7.2 changed from RTV to METV the channel ID changed little while after the channel network changed over.

WJZY 46-3 is now blank, so I guess they are still testing it. The Country Network was freezing up during a commercial a little while ago.

WJZY was pretty good about getting the guide info and station name setup for Antenna TV when it was ready.

On a somewhat related note I read elsewhere on this forum that TVGOS was essentially going away. It might have already been pulled from WNSC. Not sure about WTVI.

The Country Network is back, at least for now. If it goes off again, I won't post it on here so I don't sound like a broken record!

They must be having some technical problems, as now it is off again.

And still nothing yet on 55.2. But right now, Jimmy Swaggart is singing a gospel song on 55.3.

Hi -
I record the ABC World News nightly on WSOC with an OTA antennia via mythtv. I watch the news though my 5.1 av receiver. Every night, the audio drops during the broadcast from 5.1 down to 2 channels. My receiver still says it's getting a 5.1 signal during the drop. It seems to happen right after the commercial break when they return to the news and it lasts about 15 seconds before it jumps back to full 5.1 sound.

I've tried playing the file back i both mplayer and mythtv with the same result. Has anyone seen this type of behavior? It seems like it's something with the broadcast itself but I don't know how to prove that.

Thanks
Dave

I don't have any technical information, but I don't believe it's just on that show. I've had issues while watching ABC (9.1) where the sound changes slightly and I've been wondering if i'm going crazy. It happens sporadically, or at least so I thought, during some of the different shows I might catch during primetime.

Back when we were discussing the "flip-flop" of WBTV's sub-channels and the resulting incorrect guide data, I simply deleted WBTV (channel 23) from my tuner and re-scanned. After the re-scan, both THIS and Bounce appeared on the correct channels along with appropriate guide data.

Storm conditions and/or solar radiation made radio-TV reception lousy yesterday and last night for several channels, but things appear more normal today. Lost 9.5, 36.1, and 46.1. But they are back now.

ABC World News is just 2.0 Dolby Digital, there is no 5.1 even from the actual Satellite feed.

All Comments made are my own and not of my employer.

I'm now under the assumption that there is a set launch date for The Country Network on WJZY, and for that reason they can't keep it on for the entire day until then. The channel has went dark around the same time for the last three days, and there haven't been any technical problems with TCN as far as I can tell. It surprises me that WJZY has left the channel dark during the evening and overnight hours instead of showing SBN during that time.

Yea it's gone again. Maybe it'll go permanent eventually. Meanwhile, it is also carried on WMYA 40.3.

I can sometimes watch it on WMYA when the conditions are right, even though their transmitter is 108 miles away. Honestly, the only WMYA subchannel I really watch is TheCoolTV since none of the Charlotte stations carry it. I really like the variety on there, especially with the older videos!

WSOC has had issues with channels dropping out for a few years now. It used to happen when they went to commercials. Exactly 15 seconds in they would go from 5.1 to 2.0. But they seem to have fixed that. have not noticed the issue with WNT.

Well, I don't miss the test pattern and nightly sign off of each local network station. However, some would argue that the content of network TV used to be better in the old days. If you agree, then it may be accurate to refer to those days as the 'good ole days'

I can view/listen to CoolTV on WMYV 48.2 Greensboro; and we've had TCN on WXLV 45.2 for a while now too.

With Charlotte being the largest market throughout the Carolinas, I am kind of surprised that none of the networks have picked up CoolTV. But maybe it will be added in the future.

I don't know man. I really like a great many of the older shows, but a lot of them were just lame. Even back THEN I thought some of them were lame. But we didn't have any choice except NBC, CBS, and ABC, so we just watched whatever they gave us.

Take "The Dick Van Dyke Show". Please: Take it.
That was one of my least favorite shows in the history of TV.

As for the test pattern: Growing up out in the country with nothing to do, this signaled that it was time to go to bed. I guarantee that most of us "older folks" got a lot more sleep back then.
