Oh, just admiring the lights. And the equipment is probably like me - gets cantankerous when it stays this hot, humid for this long.

For those of you who like to hear other things..SAP Spanish audio has been added to QVC, but only on Wednesday thru Sunday 8PM to Midnight. Complete with CC2 to match.

Major announcement: Paul Cameron is retiring from WBTV sometime in December. He is the last of the original heavyweight anchors in Charlotte from back in the day, joining retired legends Bob Inman, Bill Walker and the late Doug Mayes. He will be very much missed as a legacy anchor and not really sure who can fill his shoes as the younger crowd is taking over and not really sure if they appreciate the growth and heritage of Charlotte and the Carolinas. Time will tell. Don't know who the replacement will be but they may leave that major decision to when Gray take over from Raycom.

Paul Cameron started as sportscaster replacing Jim Thacker and then moved to anchor desk when Bob Inman retired.

Charlotte Observer online has full story and video interview.

I don't like WBTV is cutting the morning show to half hour to make way for some new female talk show. They tell you to go to Facebook to watch 2nd half but I don't fool with Facebook and all that foolishness. The morning show was better as full hour format and had potential to be improved. WCNC and WSPA still have full hour morning shows and I think WBTV should have stayed the same. Surely they could have found another slot for the new show which probably won't last anyway.

Just curious (my antenna is in the attic), are the wind gusts over such a sustained period of time causing any roof antenna woes. When I lived in Ohio a fellow in town made the Sunday paper with a photo of bricks scattered across his lawn. He'd had a side mounted antenna with straps around his chimney. There was just a stub of chimney left sticking up from the roof.

We are at the point of just Rain at this point so there will be no Tower issues to speak of. The worst areas would be an L from Florence/Darlington over to Lumberton and than down to Wilmington straight north to Nags Head. Had a few Towers From Wilmington to Nags Head that suffered damage along with a few Doppler Radars that is what was on the 3pm call with FEMA.

All Comments made are my own and not of my employer.

I watched WSOC coverage on the Roku stream because clouds blocked the OTA signals from coming in. Their live stream is good backup for the news.

WSOC-CR is off the air. No AC power at Crowder's Mtn. We are not on the generator that supplies power to the FM station. No time table for its return. Ted

A friend of ours lives near the base of the mountain, and they have been without power since 10:00 pm last night. WSOC's transmitter must be on the same power line.

I'd hate to be hiking on the trails. No telling how many limbs and trees are falling!

WSOC's marathon coverage Saturday definitely deserves props. It is rare to see a local station go all day long (especially when it displaces college football) to cover a story like that.

Also, I was surprised to notice that YouTubeTV, Google's streaming TV service, now has all of the Charlotte local stations on their lineup. They have WBTV, WSOC, WCNC, WJZY, WCCB, WMYT (my12) and WAXN 64. Because geographically I love so close to the SC/NC border when I signed up with my zip code it gave me the option of choosing "Charlotte Area" or "Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville" area. I chose Charlotte, and get all of the Charlotte locals on YouTubeTV when at home! While at work I'm in a different zip code however and can watch the Spartanburg/Greenville locals there during the day via YouTube TV.

Yes..they installed dedicated IP feeds direct from each station's studios..(The WCCB circuit also carries WOLO's signal since it originates from here.) It's a first class installation with top quality equipment, and they will call us fairly quickly if they detect any problems. We now have dedicated fiber feeds for Spectrum, AT&T, Google Fiber and Google YouTube, as well as ABC-Go. (The east coast server farm for ABC is located in Kings Mtn.) All of ABC's streaming is handled by Disney Cable Networks in California.

I also thought WCNC did good job and they were on much of the day. Reports from the coast as well as Charlotte area.

Does YouTube TV just carry the primary (-1) channels, or do they also carry any/all of the many sub-channels?

I notice WSOC has replaced the skyline backdrop behind the video monitor where the anchors stand. Now they have a plain blue wall. Don't know if this is temporary but I liked the skyline better.

I've noticed a few traditional sub-channels appearing on some of the streaming pay-tv services. For example, Cozi is available on Fubo and PlayStation VUE; Comet is available on YouTubeTV. There maybe others, but those are just a couple I've seen.
