I see very strong signals on RF 18 and RF 19 but it never locks on them. I'm not an engineer so I dunno why.

Never been able to get WAXN consistently. If you look at the contour map and zoom in on my house it's just in a horrible spot for it because of elevation or some other geographic issue. My parents next door get it fine, but their house is about 5 feet higher elevation wise than ours is. I'm curious to rescan tonight now that UNC TV's stuff is off the air and see if whatever caused the interference here is gone.

I only picked up WSOC sometimes when it was on 34 and it seems about the same on 19 so far. I've never received WAXN but the Valdese translator has came in much better since it moved to 26. I couldn't pick it up that much before on 42. I live in Blowing Rock.

WSOC: Signal quality 100%, strength 74%
WAXN: Signal quality 82%, strength 47%

Both are coming in currently. But a program I had set to record on WSOC today at 2PM didn't record due to a weak signal. I had that DVR set to a Charlotte antenna at the time.

The same program was in the list of recordings on the DVR hooked to my large directional antenna, but I haven't yet watched it to check the quality.

I can get WAXN but not WSOC in Morganton. RF 19 has 90%+ but never locks.

WSOC- Signal Strength is between 87-93% but signal quality is 0% most of the time on my HDHomeRun. Late at night and first thing in the morning I get between 0 and 50% signal quality. Strenght is always consistent, but I know that is meaningless. Previously I got both it and the translator fine. EDIT: As of right now 89% signal strength, 0% signal quality

WAXN- No reception, but I've never been able to get it consistently.

I picked up RF 19 UNC-TV tonight(Virtual Channel 27). That may be what interfere WSOC.

If that thing is still on then no wonder I can't pick up WSOC. I don't see how they can keep running those things?

Ought to be illegal. UNC-TV has way too many towers/translators. I can pick up 5-6 UNC-TV towers very well and the mountain translators randomly depending on the weather.

I don't have a problem with translators, but in this case clearly these things are sitting within or close to WSOC's DMA. It seems as though at this point they should have to move frequencies, or be turned off shouldn't they?

They should change frequency but they're not finished yet. Hope they finish this week and interference problems solved.

WJZY 87% signal strength through TiVo with my 8 bay attic mounted antenna. Not quite as good as WBTV, but very good signal.

WCNC signal still considerably weaker that it was before the repack (with no changes on my end). Undoubtedly, WCNC must be using temporary antenna (for who knows how long) which has null to the north and east.

Is that the Brevard translator for UNC-TV? It is supposed to be moving from 19 to 27. And UNC Tryon Peak translator supposed to be moving from 19 to 16. I suspect those 2 channels may be causing interference with WSOC on 19. Maybe they wait until Friday to turn off, as they run run scroll saying rescan on Sept. 13. They were late turning off WUNE on 17 in Linville, which blocked out WHNS on 17 until afternoon.

I receive WSOC after 7pm, overnight, and early morning. Northwestern Spartanburg County, near Inman, just past I-26. Just past fringe contour line. But I am able to lock on WCCB from similar location all day long, although low signal during the day with 8bay attic antenna. Perhaps interference issue with nearby UNC-TV translator on Tryon Peak as previously suggested. Maybe improve after they move to 16. But sounds like possible interference problem near Cherokee County and maybe Cleveland County, which is more primary coverage area for WSOC. WAXN also came in yesterday morning, but later dropped out due to weather conditions.

UNC-TV is coming in on 58 (Concord), 17 (Linville), and 33 (Asheville). WGTB, channel 28 from Gastonia, is coming in at 100% signal strength. That ain’t never happened before - normally you have to stand on one foot and hold your head at just the right angle, with a powerful outdoor antenna pointed just so, in order to get about 30% strength. WDMC, channel 25 is gone - I hope it comes back. WVEB, channel 22 is still on 14 - I don’t look forward to losing it when it begins the conversion process. Oddly, MeTV channel 18.3 is off, but the other WCCB channels are coming in.

WSOC is coming into the UNC DMA and inferring where we cannot watch UNC TV. Next when WAXN goes to full strength on new channel 32 it will run into WLOS 32 on same Tryon Peak. We will see how it goes.

I left out that when UNC TV 16 goes live on 16 it might interfere with channel 28 on Paris Mnt. who moved to 16 also. I live 23 miles from Paris Mnt. and I can’t get any of channels.

UNC-TV should soon be move from 19 to 16. And you may get main signals from WUNE Linville on 36 which is very strong, and WUNF which move to 20 on old WYCW tower. WAXN have directional antenna so it may not quite interfere with WLOS on 32.

WHKY is off RF 40 and on RF 14. I had trouble getting it in Morganton, so it's probably on the interim low-power antenna.

At 8:00am WVEB and WHKY were both showing zero signal strength, which I assume means they are shut down. I've never seen zero signal strength on either before. A rescan found UNC 58.1 to .4 on their new RF 21 but at reduced signal strength (much lower than normal, but still well above threshold).

I assume you get WHKY from Charlotte area repeater. WHKY is up in Hickory area but low power. Possibly the WHKY signal from Hickory area maybe not strong enough to reach the repeater in Charlotte area. I'm not sure how they have it set up.

I am located in Spruce Pine and I was not able to receive WSOC from Friday until Sunday, but since Sunday it has been a strong signal and reliable, I always got WSOC consistently on old channel 34 also at about the same signal strength as I am receiving it at now.

I have not been able to receive WAXN so far and only rarely received it on the old frequency.

Since the repack my results have varied in Spruce Pine, WJZY has had a small improvement in signal strength, WCNC at first was better signal strength, but has fell off the last few days to the point that I am having signal dropouts which never happened before, but it almost seems like interference of some sort because it is having pixelation while the signal is still above the digital cliff. I lost WHKY yesterday which had been a nearly full signal station for me. WCCB from the main transmitter is now coming in at a fairly low strength after not coming in at all previously in the summer, but I have lost the Smith Mountain translator in the last few days which is usually a very strong signal even when they posted a week or so ago that it was at was half power. Its crazy how these changes have had varied results in just short distances, for example as I said WJZY is a little stronger for me now than previously, but my neighbor who is around 100 yards away with the same exact 8 bay antenna as me went from having a stronger signal than me previously on WJZY to losing the channel completely after yesterday.
