I have a 10.1 and 10.2 problem too. I don't think it is a weather problem. The odd thing is, I show a signal strength of 92 on channel 67 using my HD-Tivo, but no station identifier shows up.

It seems that the problem may be at the transmitter end of things, since both 10.1 and 10.2 are down. If that's the case, it may be till Monday when things get fixed.

I wonder if it was their analog feed if it would have been "today" or if they would have just not cared everyone is watching I can't imagine not having a spare set of parts on hand if something is that crucial. Oh wait, sorry, i'm an idealist...nix that.

Thanks you guys.
I thought it was just me. Turned on SNL(don't ask why) on Sat. and got a blank screen. My meter keeps jumping on 10.1 and 10.2. Thought it might be my tuner at first but all other channels are fine. I'm glad I finally found a current board here and not one dated 2003.

WOW, I guess FM is still a valid science. No sooner had I posted and re-scanned my channels did WCAU re-appear. Now if I could block the glare form Howie Mandel's bald head, I would be fine.

Not sure what part they needed but since they obviously didn't have one on hand, it most likely was an expensive one. Damn those accountants

Just moved into a house near Trenton with a gigantic antenna on the roof (three-story house -- don't know how old the antenna is, but it looks pretty old). Hooking up a regular TV to it, and I get pretty good reception on the usual Philadelphia stations (3,6,10,12) (the antenna is pointed right at Philly, AFAICT).

Anyway, I then hooked up my Samsung SIR-T451 and get... nothing. It shows 'No signal' all across the board. I don't have another antenna to use at the moment, but I am certain the Samsung is fully operational.

Does this make any sense at all? What may be the problem here?

I think you need a good UHF antenna. If that doesn't work on all stations you'll need to add a preamp.

Yes, that sounds like the next step. Would you have any particular antenna to recommend? I'm about 25mi east-northeast of Phila and 54mi southwest of NYC.

Thanks again.

I have had a lot of success with the Winegard PR-8800. You would need a rotator to try for both cities. Or, you could use a smaller PR-4400 toward Philly and an 8800 toward NYC. You may have to add a UHF pre-amp if you still find weak signal strength. I got my antenna and pre-amp from Stark Electronic. They were cheap and fast. My antenna and pre-amp are in the attic, and I am 40 miles from the transmitter, but I still get 10 DTV stations.

I hope someone can provide the needed information on this matter. I live in Somerset, Somerset County, New Jersey. I want to receive the OTA stations from NYC and Philadelphia. I need advice, opinions, experience, etc. on the best outdoor antenna to get the best reception. I understand the hardest OTA stations to receive from Philly are WHYY and FOX 29.

I am considering the CM 4228 or DB8 antennas. Am I on the right track or are there better antennas to use?

Thanks for the help!

I can tell you that the db8 is better than the winegard unit that is similar in design(dont know model number sorry). I already had bought a db8 and paid an installer to put it up. It wasn't working that well but then when he put up his winegard, it outperformed that measurably.

I had a very difficult install as i was shooting thru a 'tunnel' between my neighbors house and some unknown object.

So I can say the DB8 works great for me except whyy (only at night). But if you want to save money, many people have had luck with the 4228.

also you have to keep in mind (well, not really), that 6 is going back to 6 in 2009 and i dont think the db8 will pick that up. Not sure what others will though.

And channel 10 wants to go back to channel 10. We'll see if the FCC allows that.

I was thinking that I may have to add a VHF antenna to my UHF antenna, but I can get analog 6 and 10 fairly well with my current setup. I am hoping that I may be able to get away with just the UHF antenna after all. Check back on this forum in 2009.

I see NBC10 digital is once again off the air. Guess I'll have to watch the NY affiliate on DTV to get the HD Devils vs. Hurricanes.

Can someone confirm a drop in signal in NBC10's digital signal? I went up to my attic today to try and re-caputre their signal with no success. My HR10-250 shows 0 signal on ch.67 yet all others (KYW, WPVI, WHYY, WPHL, WPSG) all have strong signals.

I'm getting a 70 where I usually get close to 100 so it does look like they may be on reduced power this morning.

Aah, that makes me feel better. I usually get 78-82 signal for their digital transmission. I hope when 2009 comes around the locals get their act together.
