awesome! hopefully they will care and do something
Call the WFLD main line and select the programming department and tell them. More people that do so makes it more noticeable.

Can anyone explain why I'm not experiencing any of these audio problems?

I use Windows Media Center which sends audio over the HDMI cable to the TV and there isnt a trace of any distortion at the levels that are being describing. Granted, I'm not an audio affection-ado but i think I'd recognize a problem if I heard it. I've even tuned into ch18 out of Milwaukee and other than it's audio being 5.1, everything sounds identical and seems fine to me.

Are you on cable, antenna, sat? Do you watch Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, Legends, or Supernatural?

the audio problem is there. I even record the ts stream direct on my pc with a Hauppauge hd card and the low bit audio quality is present thought not as noticeable on the pc speakers as a large tv or my dennon avr . my front left and right speakers are klipschorn so you can imagine how noticeable bad audio is. what the hell is wrong with the people that work at cw 50? you would think someone there watches the shows they have. or do they know and a hardware update is needed and they are too cheap do do it. by the way fox 32 is fine. my wife watched pitch last night and audio was great. completely ruined the supergirl-flash-arrow-legends crossover for me because of the sound.

The problem in that audio clip is very noticeable, yet I've been watching those shows for weeks and have never noticed anything.

Maybe I'll be more attuned to it now that I've heard it. I'll have to redo my comparison with ch18 out of Milwaukee. I watched last night's Legends and didnt notice anything. There's always the possibility I have a tin ear too :-)

BTW, this is OTA.

On a different issue....

What has happened to WMEU 48.1,48.2 and also WRJK 22.1 & its channels. I haven't had a signal on either channel for quite some time now. Anyone know what's going on with either of them?

Also, are you watching using TV speakers or AV receiver? If the former, what model TV?

It's TV speakers. I dont know the model but its a 3 yr old Samsung, 60".

The audio comes out of the HTPC via HDMI to the TV, then to the TV's speakers.. I think its 2 channel out of the computer so the computer is doing the decoding.

22 is back with a bunch of subs and was watchable for a few days. now its the way it was before, short audio dropouts and the video jumping around constantly.
does anyone who works there check their signal?

WRJK Channel 22 Chicago has been experiencing technical difficulties since November 19. Information from Luken Communications, LLC, the owner of RETRO-TV and REV'N, stated that WRJK has been working to resolve "encoder" problems. I have noticed that in the past few days, WRJK is back on the air, but may not have resolved all technical difficulties. There appear to be on-going encoding problems, which result in compromised bursts of the video data. I enjoy RETRO-TV in particular, and I am hopeful that the owner and technical personnel of WRJK can soon resolve the distracting encoding errors.

WBBM simulcast on WMEU

Just noticed yesterday, WMEU, 48-3 is carrying WBBM channel 2-1 and 48.4, Decades channel 2-2. I haven't seen or heard anything about this. Does anybody know if this is a permanent addition? I occasionally have drop outs on 2-1, but not on 48-3 so far. I like it!

Must be some kind of deal between CBS and Weigel. Is this a fill-in signal?

not really a fill in signal. More like an "enhanced" signal

WBBM is on VHF12 which as most folks know is a bugger for indoor antennas. WBBM does have a fill in translator on RF26 but at only 371 feet for the tower the signal doesnt get out there very far. The fill in is not on the Sears Tower (or whatever its called now)...its 7 miles away.
WMEU's RF32, while also at 15kw is on a 1500+ tower (Sears Tower) so the outer burbs can get CBS better now

With PBS Kids moving to WTTW, is 56.3 airing anything? I cannot pick up WYIN right now, so was wondering if anything is airing. On Comcast, 56.3 (Comcast 376) was dropped.

WTTW-DT 11.4 is now PBS Kids. Also, can anyone check my page with all the channels here:

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/45-loc...ml#post9948405

And let me know what updates are needed? I think I have all the full-power stations correct...AS well as WPVN-CD (24.X), and WMEU 48.X...

WPWR 50.1 is now The CW and 50.4 is 480i widescreen stretch-o-vision. WGN 9.1 is now independent. There is a format error with 48.4 in your list.

WWME-LD (39)
23-1 : MeTV - 480i
23-2 : H&I - 480i
23-3 : MeTV - 480i

I don't see any entries in there for WBBM-LD's 2.11 and 2.21 on RF26, but maybe you omitted them intentionally?

Also, in your next post immediately after that one — linked at https://www.avsforum.com/forum/45-loc...ml#post9948418 I think — you list WMEU-LD on RF32 as a non-HD digital station. But 48.1 is 720p and 48.3 is 1080i.

Small things like those aside, thank you very much for all this.

Some detail additions:
2-2 Decades is 480 widescreen
5-2 Cozi is also widescreen
Analog 6 is still airing MeTV FM
For WRJK 22: 1=Corner (informercials), 2=CRTV (informercials), 3=Diya TV, 4=something with mVaiYa in the lower right (was some music video at the time), PSIP is WRJK-LD, 5=LifeHac, 6=Rev'n, 7=just said WRJK-LD, not sure what was airing, but pixelating badly, 8=Rev F. The audio level is VERY, VERY low on all channels.
24-3 TuffTV and 24-4 Polvision are 480 widescreen
25-2 is HSN2, 25-3 is Shop LC, 25-4 is QVC Plus, 25-7 is Peace TV English (Muslim religious), 25-8 is BeautyiQ (shopping), 25-9 is On4UTV (infomericals?) All are plain 480i.
61-2 and 61-3 are widescreen, although 61-3 is still 'squished' for some reason. 61-4 is JTV (Jewelry TV)

Amazed I picked up W25CN, as that is rare. Couldn't get WOCK or WYIN this morning.

Did WMEU 48.1 (rf32) change its broadcasting pattern, power leve or something else? I used to have a very good signal for that channel but have had zero signal strength since perhaps mid November. I was hoping to check out WBBM-DT on 48.3 there but still have no signal!
