WCIU 26.6 and WMEU 48.4 are airing Decades.
WMEU 48.2 has Start Tv.

Is 26.6 actually airing Decades? On Comcast, broadcast 26.6 is channel 359, and it is showing StartTV, which is also on the former Decades channel 338 (broadcast 2.2). Not sure if it's a Comcast mistake or not.

Edit: Just realized that Comcast 359 is actually WMEU 48.2, which is why it is showing Start TV.

One thing I thought would happen on FOX when they added the subchannels as well as channel sharing with WPWR has happened - the NFL coverage on FOX is more pixelated and soft than last year. Standard camera view I don't notice anything different. But when the camera is panning the crowd of they are showing replays where they are zoomed in to the player or any horizontal view, there is more pixelation.

Weigel Broadcasting, Chicago-based parent company of WCIU-Channel 26, Me-TV and a host of other broadcast stations and digital networks, just switched on the future of television. On Sunday, Weigel launched “Chicago 3.0,” an experimental next-generation full-power station broadcasting from Willis Tower. Although not yet available to the general public, the ATSC 3.0 technology eventually is expected to allow viewers to watch anything they want, on any device, wherever they are. “We are excited to collaborate with our vendor partners as we explore the viability and the potential opportunities of what the future broadcast standard has to offer for viewers, our affiliate partners and the industry,” Evan Fieldman, Weigel’s vice president of digital, said in a statement. “We look forward to sharing various aspects of our findings with the broadcast community.”

WPVN was sold this past summer and the new owners are running a variety of ethnic programming. I sure miss Retro TV and JBTV! I hope that someone else will pick them up.

I'm getting 5.1 audio feeds off The CW. Is OP out of date? This is from a recent recording of The Flash using MythTV:

I'm seeing this from other live shows on The CW, as well.

WCIU OTA & all its sub-channels (26.x) have had no signal last night (Oct 7) and still don't. Dish Network also has no signal for WCIU (Dish doesn't carry the subs).

I can't find anything about what's happening & am presuming it's a temporary technical glitch.

Well I just went back & turned everything on & they're all there now. I have OTA tuners in my Dish DVR and also in my HTPC and both devices said no signal earlier. Weird.

I get it via Comcast, and it is 5.1 audio now. The CW season premieres start this week, so maybe they finally fixed the audio issues WPWR had.

Yeah, they also are working on their new ATCS 3.0 transmitter equipment as well. So, I'm not surprised.

Can anyone else corroborate this? My recent recordings of The Flash, Black Lightning, and Riverdale all have 5.1 sound.

This was, more or less, an attempt to get the attention of the OP. @sebenste , is there a reason why the OP hasn't been updated to reflect the CW's change?

Yep, I haven't been monitoring this as they have obviously been having issues in the past. It is updated now to reflect 5.1. Thanks!

I appreciate your work keeping up the OP! It was a huge help to me a few weeks back, when I got my HDHomeRun hooked back up after years of neglect.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I also updated a few more things in there, so it should be all good now.

I just happened to see this on the U-verse's Programming Changes page:
Quote:
In Chicago, IL area, WCHU will no longer appear on channel 13 as of 12/1/18 and will be replaced with WPVN on channel 24 on the same day.
Then I found this on Wiki for WPVN:
Quote:
On May 25, 2018, HC2 Holdings announced it would purchase WPVN-CD for $7 million plus costs.[4]). If the purchase is approved and the station does go on the air, it is likely to become an owned-and-operated station for HC2's network Azteca América, which currently broadcasts on WCHU-LD (channel 61).
So, I'm assuming that AA IS moving over to WPVN & is becoming the .1 channel...

WCIU has been running an experimental ATSC 3.0 signal on channel 23. I don't know if it's still running.

Nexstar's station uniformity is most likely a budget thing, but I really hope they can keep WGN separate from this.
