I can only access the non DV version through my xbox one s, but it says DV and atmos so hopefully for you its there on your tv app....I really loved the look of this film despite its flaws, and it should look awesome in DV....this is a nice bonus surprise for my $30

Nice. But it's technically an MGM movie with Sony partnership. And there's already a handful of MGM movies on there.

Sony is the distributor. I believe it's the 1st movie distributed by sony to show up on vudu in Dolby Vision.

Has anyone picked up Live By Night on Vudu in 4k? How good is the quality? I really wanted to see this, and since there's no 4k disc, this might be the first digital only movie I buy...

I redeem all Sony Movies from the Sony Pictures store or the Sony Ultra App. This way I get the UHD UV streaming rights. I just checked Vudu for Magnificent Seven. Which I also redeemed from one of those Sony locations. And it now shows that I own the UHD version Vudu.

Of course Vudu has yet to offer HDR10. So I would still use the Sony Ultra App for that title so I could stream it in 4k/HdR10.

True. It's now the first UHD HDR movie on both Sony Ultra and Vudu. I just meant not to get your hopes up yet about Sony releasing all their stuff on Vudu. Most of the other MGM movies on Vudu are distributed by Warner, so their inclusion isn't a surprise. But the two recent ones, Silence of the Lambs and The Princess Bride, are distributed by Fox. And so far, Fox hasn't made any other indications about putting their UHD on Vudu.

This is also very useful info. I didn't know that the Sony movie codes showed up in UV in UHD when redeemed through Sony. I don't have a Sony TV. I own an LG OLED. I've been setting on the codes waiting for this exclusivity thing to end since most codes don't expire until 2019. I have a Sony account (have a Sony BDP-S790) Blu-Ray player. Looks like I have some redeeming to do! Thanks!

I think it's not long until Fox makes their FandangoNow Vidity titles UV (and Vudu available) because that Vidity/download format is going nowhere fast.

Well, I redeemed through Sony and yes my Ultraviolet account show UHD but none of the Sony movies that I redeemed show up in VUDU. I redeemed Magnificent 7, The DaVinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Inferno. None show up on VUDU. However they do show up on FanndangoNow but, Angels & Demons and Inferno are SD quality while The DaVinci Code and Magnificent 7 are HD quality play back. Hopefully the will show up in VUDU after a while. I'll report back if and when they do. This exclusivity crap needs to end and soon.

I'm having the same issue with The DaVinci Code specifically. I redeemed it along with a few other movies yesterday. All of them showed up in Vudu except for The DaVinci Code. I contact Sony and they deleted it and re-added it to my library, but it is still not showing up. They told me to log out of myuv.com, wait 15 minutes and try again, but still no dice. I am still waiting on the next response. I also have several movies that show up on Vudu and FandangoNow, that don't show up on myuv.

Magnificent 7

I can confirm. This movie plays in Dolby Vision on my E6. And it's glorious. Definitely a more balanced picture than the HDR10 disc. Now if only Fox movies would get converted. I would love to see The Revenent's Dolby Vision grade on VUDU!!!

Ok I have an update. All of the movies that I mentioned have snown up on VUDU. It just took a long time. The Magnificent 7 shows up in UHD and the rest are in HDX. So, for those that take this route to redeem, be patient and they'll show up. Thanks again for the tip arronwt.

I've been following this thread for a while, albeit NOT with a fine toothed comb as I have young children therefore little time. Would someone please answer a few questions for me?

1. Where the best place to redeem the UHD codes? Is it the studio or can I just use my UV account?
2. Vudu is definitely not available in Canada unfortunately, and it looks like FandangoNow is not either. Can you redeem for UHD copies on UV or should I be looking at something else?

I've been hoarding my digital codes for some time and would love to redeem them! Thanks in advance.

Yep magnificent 7 looks great streamed via Vudu in dolby vision. Looks more or less the same detail wise, but seems like it has more contrast and color detail than the HDR 10 disc I own. Not that the disc is bad, but this is just better. Really looking forward to all studios jumping on board Vudu UHD.

Successfully redeemed the Lions gate movie expendables 3 on Vudu and watched some of it in dolby vision.

Many may remember this disc being problematic as one of the first looks gate titles released on the UHD Blu ray format. Pleased to say that the the DV version looks dramatically different for the better even after correcting the player outputs black levels for the disc. Just based on the first 15 minutes might be one of the bestlooking UHD titles on Vudu ATM imo.

Unless Mr. Roper shared another version somewhere else, this is the one that should replace the broken link. This is the one I linked too (and linked to Mr. Ropers own post, too).
I think it's a nice example for HDR that isn't overly processed and would like to keep it available until he deletes his linked files.

I won't be making any major changes to the list until power is restored in my area, then I can fix it, no lap top until then though.

Did you redeem through Sony or Vudu? You needed to redeem through Sony to get the UHD rights. Here is a spreadsheet that tells you where to redeem each movie.

This spreadsheet
gives the places you can redeem UV codes to get the UHD version. It's typically what is printed on the UV code slip. Unfortunately it is US-centric. I don't know how or what Canadians are doing, or if the same rules apply since Vudu and FandangoNow are not available up there. It's possible they could redeem as UHD in your UV locker, and then whenever a UV service offers UHD in Canada you will have instant access. That's how it works here. When the UBD first came out, people redeemed their Magnificent Seven codes through Sony. And if they didn't have Sony TVs with the Sony Ultra app, then they could only watch the HD version elsewhere. But just this week, it became available in UHD on Vudu and they gained access.

US-centric is an understatement! Vudu isn't on the radar for any person in any country in the entire world, except for one - America. [1]

This doesn't stop that scumbag company from stealing Ultraviolet codes though, redeeming them - only to tell you after the fact that you can't use their service. And they are STILL doing this.

Thanks for the info and link. Was thinking about asking a question the other day about the best places to redeem the codes.

Thanks for the spreadsheet puddy, I want to say "very helpful" but up in Canada I'm not sure it will be! My UV library shows the two movies I redeemed today to test it out (Arrival & Billy Lynn's) are available in SD, HD, UHD while all my others (only 14 in total so far) are only available in either SD or SD, HD. Next I will have to look into whether or not there are any services in Canada that will play UHD versions.

I definitely did note when I was on their website that there is absolutely no warning or notice that should you try and redeem a code then you've lost it if you don't happen to reside (use it) in the U.S. That said I'm sure outside the U.S. all redemption codes are directed to other sites and never reference Vudu. Still don't agree with their approach with it though.
