Finally saw Wonder Woman and War for the planet of the apes on UHD Disc. Although I liked and seen Wonder Woman in the Theaters, I was unimpressed with the PQ of the UHD disc. Nothing special there! Basically on Par with Batman V Superman imo which didn?t wow me either. I?m Wondering if this is a Zach Snyder thing on how he wants these movies shot, even though it was another director?
War for the planet of the apes was the opposite, I thought it was a very good rendering of 4K HDR on disc I also enjoyed the movie itself! Making me think I should grab the other 2 movies on UHD discs? I have the regular Blu-ray for rise, is it a vast improvement in HDR? Also how is Dawn also PQ wise?

Valerian 4k DV

Just want to report that Valerian is 1st movie I got that was in Dolby Vision but nowhere on the cover or case did it say anything about Dolby Vision. If it wasn't for coming onto AVS forums I would of had no clue it was in DV. Cmon manufacturers it cost that much to put the little DV symbol on the case.

Had to import, bit pricey, but I think the 3D presentation was worth it.
Check the Blu-ray forum, 3D section for more info.
UK version is region locked I believe, unless you have a region-free player you have to get it from Asia.

All 4k? Despicable Me 3? I don't see any reference to this on their site. $10 for that would be great!

Yeah I've still not purchased it because nobody actually had it. Has to be the worst launch of a movie I've ever seen. I'm probably just going to rent it on Vudu at some point since it is available in HDR10 there.

I think the demand was significantly underestimated. Should be easy enough to get the sequel, though. And eventually the first one will have wider availability.

As much as I think that movie will be beautiful in HDR, I don't think I'll ever not watch it in 3D. I saw the extended edition in 2D and while the extra scenes were nice, I felt like I was missing out the whole time. Felt the same with Guardians 2 HDR. The HDR was quite good, but I kept feeling like there was something inherently missing about certain shots by not having that depth.

It will always annoy me that studios didn't push for a 3D HDR format. James Cameron clearly pushed for it for the theater for Titanic, so maybe he can help push for it in the home.

Fixed.

I'm going to firmly recommend anyone thinking their current tablet or iPad is due for replacement, run not walk over to the new iPad Pros. Apple is really making a 4K play and the Pro is just a tour de force with iTunes and full playback of anything one might desire form a media server via Infuse with 24 bit sound. It is a mobile video reference with beautiful HDR and Dolby Vision playback on a perfectly calibrated screen. (Wished I'd sprung for the 12.9 inch model with is 2732 pixel width which is close enough to the 3840 of 4K on such a small screen.) Mobile high-end video has arrived. (Frankly AVSforum needs a mobile video section. 1080p playback with the third generation iPad was possible with their 3rd generation screen's 2054 pixel width back in the Spring of 2012.)

On the cutting content edge, is discussion allowed of some of Avatar and Force Awakens in 4K? There is some hacker stuff out there that astounds my mind.

Someone posted a link to a foreign "placeholder" site a while back, for SW VIII in 4k. I would imagine that eventually there will be some re-release of those in HDR. But Disney is so slow to do anything...I wouldn't hold your breath.

Dawn looks and sounds better than Rise. I actually think Dawn was one of the first theatrical ATMOS releases. They are definitely worth owning just to complete your collection. I would not upgrade if you already have the Blu-ray though.

what is the information on the level of nits for available HDR mastered content?

ex: Which movies are mastered in 1000 nits vs 4000 nits? "Some titles are mastered at a peak of 1000 nits."

They let you sort by release date, but it’s unfortunately the release date of the movie and not the 4K HDR release date. I’m hoping there is some better way I am just not getting.

Very cool that they do seem to add new titles on a daily basis though. The list is growing quickly.
It may be "Resident Evil: Afterlife"
