Be sure to post your impressions, I'm curious if this one will get a good 4K film scan that some of the other Paramount titles are getting (like Braveheart). I won't have my disk until Thurs., and will probably not be able to check it out until the weekend

Initial reports are indicating that it's video quality is not good but I don't believe all the reports. For instance, they said "Forrest Gump" 4k was a terrible transfer and I watched it last night and thought the video quality was quite good. Even better video on "Forrest Gump" than on the new "Tomb Raider" IMO.

For those that have not seen A Quiet Place, Vudu has the Digital + 4K disc option available so you can watch it now and get the disc July 10 when it releases.

thedigitalbits.com gave Forest Gump a B+ and the lowest MI film is also a B+ (all others are As). You should maybe start looking at their reviews

I think the reviews in the last few days is what caused the MI movies to sell out because they could be had until about 3-4 days ago.

I called two Best Buys near my house and they told me that they had not received their shipments of the 4K UHD Mission Impossible blu rays.

Amazon is out of stock until July 4th. I ended up ordering them from Bull Moose and should receive them on Friday.

Yes, the reviews seem to be more in line with my impressions on thedigitalbits.com. I spend a lot of time at the blu-ray.com site and that's where they gave Forrest Gump a very low rating:

Re-watching Black Panther and may change my review.

Wife and I watched Black Panther on my 75" Samsung JU7100, and weren't impressed.

Tonight, while watching the Extras on my 65" Samsung KS9800, I was seeing a much more colourful and realistic look and feel to it.

Have started to re-watch - it appears, if you don't have the Nits, this movie doesn't have any life in it ! ?

I thought the first "Mission Impossible" was not very good as far as video. The indoor scenes actually looked better to me than the outdoor scenes. Definitely "soft looking". The outdoor scenes should have been much more clear and crisp than they ended up.

Disney is working on their own streaming service, and isn’t releasing any of their movies in 4K to other services.

Oh yeah, yet another service to subscribe too. I have noticed though that a lot of movies that come to Netflix aren't in 4K so it's not just Disney ones. What movies that have come out in the last year or 2 on Netflix are in 4K? Are any on Dolby Vision or HDR 10 because I don't know of any. It seems any new movie that gets released is just in HD and only their original programming and TV shows are in 4K or DV.

It’s about the rights to those movies and you can always redeem or buy the digital UHD version. Don’t expect many movies outside of NetFlix originals to be UHD on NetFlix. The two you mention in particular can be redeemed or bought and streamed via NetFlix or FandangoNow.

do the codes for the mission impossible movies redeem in UHD online?

Just watched Mission Impossible (1996) and while nobody would mistake it for a Blade Runner 2049 or Blue Planet, it's a truly massive improvement over the blu-ray. Scenes set inside in particular are beautiful. And exteriors, while soft, still look way better.

It could seriously pass as a movie released in the last few years.
