Your right, but per thread rules on first page:

"-You can also post your expressions and opinions on whether or not something is worth checking out or worth spending your money on, because in the beginning its going to be fairly expensive ($25-$30 per movie, or a subscription based service.)"

Which was done, he didn’t like it, you did, asking for details on “why” would be beyond saying if you thought something was worth buying or not. This is just my humble opinion of course as discussions like this are a slippery slope.

I liked Annihilation but I didn't think it was worth the price of the UHD BD I purchased. So with A Quiet Place, I purchased the UHD digital version. For only $4.95, it's a sweet deal. Now if Apple would just hurry up and roll out Atmos audio to the ATV 4K.

Right now I just use Dolby Surround with my ATV 4K, to simulate Dolby Atmos.

DOlby Surround does a great job simulating Atmos. So for me, it's not worth waiting if I have access to the content already.

Have you tried DTS;Neural X for simulated height surround? If so, which is better DTS:Neural or Dolby Surround?

The ATV4K ATMOS beta is out but at the moment it only works on Vudu. lujan specifically mentioned ITunes ATMOS so I'm assuming that he redeemed his UHD code on Itunes. It isn't on MA so it won't port to Vudu where he could watch it in ATMOS immediately. However it is available on Vudu in ATMOS immediately if redeemed there.

Yes, it's already out but of the 5 titles I have on iTunes that supposedly have Atmos, none of them worked. Atmos on the Vudu app on the ATV4K box works so I'll be watching Vudu 4k and Atmos on this device.

hmmm.... I guess I'll be able to watch A Quiet Place this weekend on my ATV 4K. I didn't realize that they would send me the code right away. I just redeemed it and I'm able to stream it on my ATV 4K in HDR and 7.1 PCM. This was a sweet deal for only $4.95. Especially since the disc doesn't even come out until July 10th. I figured I wouldn't be able to redeem until July 10th. Since they had pre-orders for $7.95 that were available right away to watch. The $4.95 pre-order wasn't supposed to be available to watch until the 10th.

I wonder how often this happens? I'll need to look into getting more UHD HDR movies this way if I can get them for such a great price to watch on the ATV 4K.

EDIT: Wow!! I just looked to see what other UHD itunes titles there are for a great price. I saw Annihilation for only $1.95. That is a much better deal than what I paid for the disc from Best Buy.

The first few minutes of A Quiet Place looks pretty good in HDR. I guess I'll watch the entire movie tonight when everything is quiet.

I much prefer Dolby Surround, Neural X does use your overhead speakers more but is more prone to errors (putting sounds up there that shouldn't be). Dolby Surround is more constrained in how much it uses the ceiling speakers and doesn't really produce any noticeable errors.

I heard lame things about the 3D of Passengers, and people seemed to like the 4K. I have both but never watched the 3D. I thought the 4K was decent, but nothing mind blowing. Should I watch it in 3D next time I watch it then?

I don't have a top 10 UHDs list but if I did, I think Passengers would be in there along with Pacific Rim & Jurassic World (disc quality).
PS, JW looks pretty bad on Vudu and FN comparatively.
