BTW Totally agree! I had zero expectations going into it and was blown away by the PQ. The movie too ended up super entertaining. Those indoor scenes in Russian clubs and offices are a slice of Red velvet cake. HDR is just amazing. Action is methodical and controlled but very much enjoyable. Cant believe this is an somewhat older movie, PQ is a knockout. Cult classic all the way. Highly recommended!
Hdr 10! Watched the disc with atmos, huge huge fan of the video and audio!

Not sure what you mean by "... somewhat older movie..." since it's only 4 years old? We are talking about "The Equalizer" with Denzel Washington, right?

Exactly that! I wouldn't think its a 4 years old movie per the PQ. It looks like it just released in theaters cuz its got such a fresh feeling to it.

The definition of `old'.

Anything greater than 3 years. Or, for Samsung, anything greater than 2 years. After that, buy a new one ! Yipes!

Isn't it more like Disney being cheap? Heck a several year old, lower budget movie like The Equalizer uses a BD-100. Yet Disney uses BD-66 discs on their very high budget titles.

Brace yourselves peeps, Netflix is doing a complete redesign.

Heres to hoping they keep a dedicated 4k/hdr section.

It does seem better than scrolling through row after row of stuff to find your saved list or recommendations. Though I'm sick of Netflix throwing the comedy special of the day in my face when I thumbs down every single one on the service. They should get the hint by now, I'm not interested in those and stop displaying them. I'm waiting for the stupid thumbs up and down rating system to function in a way that means something.

I pray to the movie streaming Gods they get rid of those unholy automatic trailers. They drive me bonkers. I try to read a description as quick as I can and scroll on before the trailer starts. It's like some sadistic game created by the Netflix overlords.

About the trailers, I hate them but some of the content on Netflix is unavailable anywhere else because it's their original content. So if you are into a couple of their shows or whatever you gotta deal with whatever they throw at you via their app. I'm one step away from dropping them if the new pay structure for HDR goes through. They do not have enough HDR content that is worth it for me to pay extra for it.

I love the auto play trailer feature when browsing titles. I hope they keep it. Ideally they should have an option to turn it on or off. But it's something I use regularly. And I hope they keep the skip opening and skip credits option as well.

Most of the content I watch on Nteflix is in HDR. And if I want access to UHD content, HDR is included anyway.

He was referring to the price increase testing that NetFlix is doing right now where they may charge more for HDR content.

I'd rather have an option to turn it off or have to click a button to see a trailer. Especially on some devices that switch between 60hz for the menu and 24hz for the video with a black screen in between the transition.

They have been testing a new pay structure where the current UHD tier is not the highest tier. They will make a new tier that costs more to get access to HDR. So what you currently pay will only give you UHD without HDR.

That's still just Europe where they are testing those tiers. Not the US where we've had UHD/HDR content for much longer on Netflix.

Lol you believe in corporate goodwill? I sure don’t. If they test it elsewhere it will trickle down to everywhere at some point.

Not sure why they are making the highest tier HDR vs 4 screens. They should swap those two and make fistfulls of money. Everyone likes to share their accounts, so limiting it back to 2 will drive more people to either quit sharing or paying more rather than those who'd pay extra for HDR.
