Thanks @ray0414 and @subacabra. I am getting some rods to hold the black velvet I have coming in today. Will be doing both side walls, about 10ft from screen to viewing position. Once that is complete, then onto the show!!Pretty stoked about the upcoming viewing experience, that and I also get Sicario, Day of the Soldado this week as well.

I watched A Star is Born in the Dolby Cinema. Great film and it will make a nice home release. Both Dolby Vision and Atmos were implemented really well.

Watched part of Solo re the Blu-ray disc. From what I saw, it was a better PQ presentation than the 4K Version !

Anyone had a chance to check out the new sicario sequel yet? A poster on the bluray.com forums said it was the best hdr he's seen yet. It seems to be a 2k upscale though.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago. I thought the movie sucked big time. A very poor sequel with a weak story compared to the great first movie. Very disappointed indeed!

Which begs the question: if the movie story line sucks, but the PQ blows your mind - do you still watch it? (Been there, done that!)

PQ on this one is mindblowing! Sharpness and detail is unreal and Soundtrack is great. Looks better than the first one and a must watch for the fans. Storyline is weak but when you have both the actors kicking ass and taking names, somehow you forget all the weak points. Its super entertaining nonetheless (Unlike the hyped up Deadpool 2) and I hope they make a 3rd one. Recommended.

So……….I finally got to watch the Fast and the Furious yesterday! What an upgrade. The picture was fantastic. The DTS:X track was awesome as well. Even from the opening scene with the semi heist, car sounds all around. Lots of great looking cars in this 4K upgrade.

Watched the First Purge via iTunes. Nothing too exciting in the visual department. HDR10. The whole movie seemed just a little too dark and muted on my E6.

The Man in High Castle looks wundebar.

Ugh spoke to soon. The darker scenes still have that grayish look to them almost like raised black level but noisier. This is through Apple TV.

Don't know about grayish or raised black levels, but I watched it from seven UHD/HDR devices this weekend and they all had a lot of noise in the low light level scenes. The outdoor scenes looked great.

I was hoping it would have been in DV. Then I would have just watched it from my TCL Tv and ATV 4K.
I'm up to episode eight. So I'm hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow night.

You know that Jackey Chan meme where he's throwing his hands in the air and looking super confused...? Well I had the same look last night throughout the movie while watching Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.

This is the first time I saw the movie and per the reviews kept my expectations low. But that 4K transfer was beyond amazing and at every scene I said to myself this movie has no right to look this good! It looks better than almost all catalog titles and even many current movies. The colors, especially the Jungle green and skintones looked amazing. So much depth and detail throughout the entire movie. Ended up enjoying the movie too and glad I watched it in 4K for my first viewing. You know what else made everything look so awesome, no noticable GRAIN! A complete surprise and at least a rental to see all the glory of a 4K movie.

Right there with you. My projector went down and it took a month and a day to get replaced. Then on Saturday, my 2006 Mustang blew the cooling system on the highway and died. Monday I went to my mechanic, two dealerships, and finally came home with a 2015 Sonata.

Since my first knee replacement in June, my father-in-law and I have done several movie days, and tomorrow will be our first in 5 weeks.

Here's the OT part... we're watching GOTG2, which is gorgeous on disc.

I just got a 2017 Mustang GT and already started doing upgrades and making a short list of stuff I want to do. It’s taken up a good chunk of my free time playing with it and wrenching on it.

I did watch solo today and thought it was a good movie. Not flashy in the video department but it looked good to me.

Thanks for that @b0rnarian. I have seen it once, and thought it okay for rental, but may have to spin that one on 4K again. Especially with your mini review.
