Speaking of 2001 A Space Odyssey, can someone answer a few questions about it.
1. What happened in this movie and what was the storyteller trying to say? Whats the ending all about and that baby?
2. Why was this movie made?
3. How was this story/movie approved by producers?

Watched Rocketman in the Dolby Cinema. Fantastic film and it looked and sounded incredible. It will get some Oscar nods for sure.
100% worthy of a purchase when it comes home.

All good questions. I had to read the book to sort it all out.
The ending is about Bowman becoming a being outside of time, he drifts from different points in his life spontaneously. Ultimately, he loses his corporeality and becomes pure spirit.
Any film involving Stanley Kubrick is almost certainly going to be made. Note also when this was released, drugs were a significant part of the culture, and this movie was somewhat analogous to an interesting drug “trip’”
For me, the pacing was a bit ponderous, but I still own and enjoy watching this one (and the sequel).

For Mac users, Apple just announced that the new MacOS 10.15 Catalina will support Dolby Vision and Atmos for the Apple TV app. I'm hoping this is a sign that their original Apple TV+ shows will support them as well.

I was disappointed that the new Mac Pro isn’t going to be a mini-led though. But 576 zones isn’t nothing to blow off. It’s more than some TV makers are putting in there flagship LCD screens...

For Mac/IOS yes, but that’s just the program which they are splitting off into 3 separate programs. Windows users for now will continue to use ITunes.

It looks like you'll need a newer Mac, but this is good news nonetheless.

Hearing the new Batman 4k releases look fantastic. I get the 1st 2 tomorrow and will order the steelbook box set of all 4 for September. HDR is very strong on these i hear along with the new 4k scans and the HDR and remastering did wonders with improving the black levels too. Batman looks good i hear but they're saying that Batman Returns is even better and the colors just leap off the screen.

Good to hear. Strangely enough I don't own any of these on Blu or even DVD so this will be my first time owning them. (although technically I think I may have them on VHS) I preordered the 4 pack set for September.

I took delivery of the first two on UHD Blu today (I only opted for the first two), but I haven't had a chance to pop them in yet and check them out; I'll have to give them a spot-check real soon, but I probably won't get to actually watch them until this weekend

Yeah it's frustrating. On one hand, they did bring out more shadow detail that was previously crushed, but they kept going too far and brought black up with it as well 😞

It is frustrating. Seems Nolan really dropped the ball. Especially after reading on here how good Batman from '89 looks.
