Top Gun has never been release in UHD? The new trailer for Top Gun Maverick looked great.
Now I want Top Gun in Dolby Vision! Throw in Days of Thunder as well.

I posted a few days earlier before the trailer came out and Jon Hamm said it was being shot in 6K but IMBD has it at 4K intermediate and Master? But I agree the trailer look real good on YouTube on my Oled!

In the US the only way to get them is via the JR collection I believe. You can import them if you want individual titles. In some regions they may have different masters/finishing process due to different companies handling distribution. Some could have different PQ. There is a thread on blu-ray forums which people list overseas discs with different masters (don’️t have a link handy).
I tunes has it stand alone in 4K DV I may consider that?

For all the members recommending 13 hours as top notch Dolby vision must have. Thank You.

I already watched it months ago but bought because of the positive eye candy comments. Watching now with the disc and DV. Amazing.

Thank you all.

There was a list of potential titles that may get an HDR grade at some point and I remember Top Gun being on that list. Not sure where that source was from or if it was wishful thinking. Just prior to the release of the new movie would be an excellent time to revisit the movie and do a HDR grade and some Atmos audio.

I just watched a trailer for the new Star Trek: Picard and it didn't seem too interesting to me but that's probably because I didn't care too much for Star Trek: Discovery. I miss the days when each episode was a complete story instead of what they do now where the whole season is one story.

Why we wait and buy the complete set when it's on sale. (Plus, at times, the complete set may have some upgrades, plus extras.)
No commercials, no season final cliff hangers, no episode runs into the next and having to wait until next week, and stop and start when you want, plus snacks can come at anytime. (Only issue - when the story line jumps between various program lines.)

I liked the one story per episode setup too but the 2nd Season of Discovery had me rattled by how good it was. It surpassed everything I have seen in the last 10 years or so. Especially the last few episdoes as I am a die hard sci-fi and star trek fan.The spore drive was amazing but the red angel took it to a whole new scientific level in concept and writing. And I got to see it in HDR too but the experience was hampered by the 1080p quality that really looked bit starved and looked 720p at places. The only other scifi writing that comes close is the Expanse but it has a different tone and theme which is also very believable. Cant wait for S4 in 4K and HDR on Amazon.

Well, that was more than 10 years ago right? And Its hard to compare the two bc captain Janeway and the crew had way more than 20 episodes and me and my sister grew up watching all or most of them. And how can you beat Seven's 90s dress code

Alita is razor sharp and has really good bass. The movie itself is just ok, lots of cheesy scenes and a pretty lackluster plot. It felt like a failed attempt at recreating Avatar.

Ditto and it can't hold a candle to RP1 in movie making.

Very good point about Ready Player One. The roller ball scenes were excellent though. Very similar to the race in RP1

I keep sending emails harassing CBS all access about 4K HDR support and a reminder that Netflix does and Disney+ will.
I caved and and got a subscription without commercials.

I was thinking the more disappointing bit is the lack of IMAX footage (as it was filmed entirely in IMAX), and instead will be from a 2K DI

Not really surprised at the DI, most all (if not all) effects are rendered in 2K. While the open format would have been nice, they are keeping it consistent with IW. I’m sure a future release will have the IMAX format for that double dip.
